Student Government is a recognized organization that delivers the voice of the student body to the faculty and staff of RIT, administrators, and the board of trustees.
Throughout the year, SG specifically looks for under-represented students and explores ways to ensure better representation in the future. For example, the Cross-Registered Senator was added at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year and the Greek Senator has been added for the new 2011-2012 school year to take the place of Greek Council.
All of these senators focus their efforts on addressing issues that are most important to their constituency, with the end goal of expanding opportunities and improving the RIT experience.
In addition to governance, student government also hosts a variety of events throughout the year to initiate student involvement. Student Government strives to bring on the spiRIT!
