If you're looking for a counselor who can provide practical guidance while also being a warm and approachable presence, you've found the perfect fit here. My counseling sessions with Jay Jeter were incredibly effective and comfortable. Jay is extremely pragmatic and I could tell that he genuinely cares about your well-being, instead of "processing" you like a product on a conveyor belt like some other counselors do. Definitely see him if you need help working through anxiety, addiction, O.C.D., or if you need general support.
Jay Jeter, owner of Riverbend is someone who thinks intentionally about the agency and the people they serve. He is informed, sharp and completely dedicated to both his team and clients. He's the type of person to show up and invest time, attention and energy into all those he comes across. You are in good hands coming into this clinic.
I can't say enough about this group or their services! Jay Jeter went above and beyond on a personal and professional level! I was able to grow as a person thanks to everyone involved. If you're considering a location to help you, consider River Bend Counseling!
If I could rate zero I would. Absolutely horrible- the counselor herself was fine. My wife and I were attending for couples counseling. It was from the beginning stated my insurance was to be billed since I do not have a copay and my wife is not covered. After 3 sessions of assuming everything was taken care of I was contacted by the office lady who IMMEDIATELY stated my wife was a liar and that we owed them $200 because THEY had charged the wrong insurance. After stating that the mistake was theirs not ours, they ran my card anyways without even responding to my email for the money that we shouldn’t have owed at all. AVOID! They will steal from you.
I've been going to RiverBend Counseling for several years now, and have always been satisfied with the quality service. Mr Jeter has been very helpful and easy to chat with. Whenever I need to reschedule, the front desk answers quickly and helps me pick a better time and date. If they don't answer, they call me back within at least an hour!
The business manager failed to do her due diligence in communicating with my insurance company. She quoted me an amount, then two sessions later withdrew additional funds from my account without any notification, and then returned money because I* got with the insurance company to straighten out the misunderstanding who then got with her so she could make the correction. Needless to say this frustrated me; however, that isn't what let me down about this place the most. Before everything was remedied, my initial conversation with the manager was a tense one where we both exchanged displeasures; I was heated, but she was unprofessional. My sessions were then terminated with Jay Jeter and after a conversation with him in which I calmly explained my side, it appears evident to me that in light of this dispute, Jay chose his bias over the discourse to his profession and client. In unethical fashion, he didn't even refer me to someone else. The response by the owner to this review is inaccurate and fails to explain the faults of the business manager. She told me she was just as much a "victim" in the scenario described as I was and chose to act and speak to me unprofessionally. Her words and attitude were certainly better shoved elsewhere than my ear. The owner, as well, fails to address his shortcomings as a professional counselor mentioned previously.
Went for my 1st appt. Jay was great. I felt so much better after having talked to him. Then he scheduled me another appt for 1045am the next week. I show up for my appt the next week at 1045am. I wait 45 minutes before I see a soul. A different therapist, so I grab his attention and let him know I had a a 1045 appt and it was 1130. He told me the secretary doesnt come in till noon so he would check the schedule. He said it says 10am. Just a note I dont do 10am appts. Ever. So I saw the secretary had made a mistake. I checked my calendar and in 2 spots it said appt 1045am. I left quite unhappy. I called later that day and was told I'd be charged for the missed appt and I explained that I was there and waited for 45 minutes. And clearly there was some big miscommunication going on. Then the secretary tells me Jay didnt think we were a good fit after the 1st session so I'd not only be charged but I'm also not welcome at the practice any longer. So why make me another appt I ask. Why set me up to fail. I feel like they have some shady practices going on. I got charged for an appt that I showed up for after they had already decided not to see me anymore. So what, then they just wanted my money and why didnt Jay tell me himself that he didnt think we were a match at the 1st appt. Instead of scheduling a 2nd appt. So now I'm out the only therapist in the area who accepts my insurance. I've ready explained for an hour why I was needing a therapist and I got charged for an appt that should have cost me a zero dollar copay. In my opinion they should have just told me we arent a good fit. Let me get you a list of other providers. And been done with it. Now they get a bad review and I have to take my needed services to another city. Thanks for being so understanding of a person clearly going through a tough time.
I really appreciate Karly's ability to form a strong relationship with my son as he works through his OCD and depression. Karly is direct and firm, but she is also very kind.
Sean was the best, years later after seeing him his words and kindness still impact my life on a daily basis. The best friend I wanted, the shoulder to ugly cry on that I needed.
The office manager was extremely rude and they failed to follow up with me. When I called the next time they got upset that I was calling then refused to see me.
