My husband and I never got to have a real wedding, so for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and his 2 year Cancer Remission Celebration we decided to have a wedding ceremony with all the trimmings. We chose this area because we both love the lake and where the venue was located next to the water. Since I have never planned anything like this before, I was nervous and feeling stressed. After I had a meeting with Dee, She become my right hand, helping me every way she could. I would not ask for a better wedding planner. I have never been more excited to have Dee, her daughter and staff be apart of my wedding. They were so nice. Everything was decorated beautifully. Staff was awesome. She even recommended others for the things that was not included in my package. The food was so delicious and welcoming after a long morning of getting ready. Thank you CHEF. We had such a fun and memorable occasion. Even when it was dancing time, my husband and I invited the staff and Dee to the dance floor so everyone would be able to be apart of our celebration, instead of just watching. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EACH OF YOU!!!!! :
My husband was the minister recently at a wedding at River Rest Weddings avenue. The owner and staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Never knew this venue existed … but if you are looking for a great place to get married, you couldn’t go wrong with River Rest Weddings. Blessings! Oh, I even had a broken knee and the owner never hesitated but quickly got his little atv and carried me from the parking lot right down to the wedding landing. Blessings on this great wedding venue!
This was a wonderful place for my daughter’s wedding. With Covid and a Hurricane coming through on the day if the wedding, it could have been overwhelming stressful but Dee and her staff kept calm and very professional throughout! The rain stopped just in time for us to have my daughter’s dream wedding outside on their beautiful deck overlooking the lake!

Absolutely the most perfect day! Everything was setup just as my daughter wanted it. We had just over 100 guest and the venue was spread out perfectly. Dee, the coordinator, and staff were great and handled everything we asked of them. The food was wonderful. The fact that they setup and clean up and handle everything in between was a huge plus and made the day go off without a hitch. Highly recommended!
My husband and I recently celebrated our first anniversary at the River Rest Bed and Breakfast. We experienced a very romantic and intimate stay there, with the added value of a very pleasant and gracious host, Richard Mixon. As a professional, experienced wedding photographer located in Birmingham, Alabama, I also highly recommend newly engaged couples check out River Rest Bed and Breakfast for their engagement, bridal, elopement, and/or wedding shoots. The River Rest Bed and Breakfast is perfect for all celebrations because the property is big enough to accommodate many guests. There is a very large private parking space past the inn on the top of the hill. In addition, Richard has taken great care in the design of his front yard decks. These beautiful wooden terraces all offer unique perspectives and functions, to include room for an outdoor wedding. For those needing a beach venue, there is ample waterside footage to host sand castle building, swimming, and special events. I did see a couple of golf carts on property which could be used to ferry older relatives around and up/down the hill. Inside the residence, there are many bedrooms for a family to use while on vacation. The kitchen is very large with an overflow room to keep kiddies in. A formal dining room with windows overlooking Lake Logan Martin is ready to be used! A medium-sized living room awaits those entering the front door. Through a plant-filled atrium, you will enter into a large living room with a vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water below. An extra added bonus is eating Richard's delicious meals! With each dish never the same, you can trust that you will discover new tastes with every morsel of food. I'm serious. Richard has an innate, natural ability to create unique cuisine with a variety of ingredients. He needs to have his own food show! All in all, I recommend River Rest Bed and Breakfast as an exceptional waterfront getaway for individuals, couples, families, and weddings! ~ Stacy P.S. Went to a friend's wedding here yesterday. It was absolutely amazing!! The venue is beautiful, views are stunning, and the entire experience was top notch! The only thing I can say that could be better is the parking area and gravelly walkways down to the venue. Treacherous for carrying heavy gifts because the ground is very uneven and once you hit the gravel and start rolling, it becomes an event for America's Funniest Videos!! Other than that, it's's all day!! Definitely recommend!!!!
The owners are so gracious and hospitable. The hjome is so beautiful and the food is the BEST! It is the PERFECT place to have a dinner party for a group of 50.
