Thank you for your interest in River Ridge Lodge. This is a private second home, and we personally take care of all the details. In this house you will find everything tastefully decorated and in working order, and everything you need to have a great vacation. In the summer you can hike, and walk right from the house. The Androscoggin River is across the street about 100 yards where you can canoe or raft. The river flows gently, about 2 mph, so it is safe for all ages. Enjoy the sauna or hot tub in your private wooded lot or take a ride through the famous Dixville Notch where there are waterfalls and points of interest the whole way, not to mention it’s a popular spot for deer and moose sightings. Closer to Bethel there is biking, local shopping, and antiquing. Probably one of the most popular activities in the summer for Bethel is golf, checking out Sunday River or just visiting the town and the Bethel Inn. At night, Bethel really shows off its charm with a multitude of restaurants for every taste.
In the winter, skiing is probably the most popular activity at Sunday River, http:://www.sundayriver.com/. The house is about a 10 minute drive to the mountain. Other, more exotic recreational activities include snowboarding (including half-pipes designed specifically for snowboarders), snowmobiling and cross country skiing. In fact, you can gain access to the famous Carters Cross Country ski trails right from the house. Also, snowmobiling can be done right from the house. Other exciting things to do include sledding, night skiing at Mt Abram, http://www.mtabram.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/mtabram-trailmap.jpeg sleigh rides, Saturday night fireworks at Sunday River, and even dog sledding.
And there is plenty to do inside the home. We have a large HD TV in the upstairs living room for sports events or movie watching, and a small library of DVD’s. There are board games, magazines and many books to choose from. In the downstairs living room/game room there is also a Olhausen pool table and a full size arcade machine with 140 original classic games like Space Invaders and Asteroids, as well as game cube for the TV. For your convenience we offer everything from linens, pillows and blankets to sugar packets at no extra charge.
