My friends and I went to Lynchburg for a trip and the Ridge River Mall was highly recommended place to visit by the locals. The mall was very modern and sophisticated especially the central main area, which had many seating areas. The mall had many stores including foot lockers, Aerie, Hot Topic, Bath & Body works etc. and even regal cinemas! The food courts had wide range of desserts, they sold ice cream sandwiches and gourmet cheesecakes, both which are very unique desserts. They also have ulta beauty and duck donuts coming soon!
The mall itself has not a lot of places to shop was very disappointed. I drove an hour and 25 minutes. Was going to eat lunch at the sandwich shop and found out it had closed, so I drove all the way to eat a Chick-fil-A .
It's an older mall that has gone through a revitalization. The central seating area is attractive, with its hundreds over hanging crystals, lights, and a fireplace. It was decorated for the holidays. Food from the pizza place in the food court was great. Restrooms could have been cleaner and better stocked, but it is the holidays and the housekeeping staff was coming around at the end of the night. Will mention that most of the parking is tight spaces.
This mall has been here my whole life. I really thought it was going under several years ago, but it has been completely renovated and is attracting lots of new businesses. I enjoy coming to the mall again. Very nicely done. Nice theater, nice food court, variety of shopping.
Unsure from the outside but really nice on the inside. Loved the stadium seats with all the charging ports. Kids and adults enjoyed a couple of hours in Seaquest!
We only stopped in to get coffee but the mall was nice and spacious and very clean. We went during the week and it was pretty empty there which was nice for us since parking was super easy and right next to the entrance.
Really nice people. Seeing santa is always fun and it is a nice santa. Be sure to check times as he has to feed the reindeer and is not available a couple times a day. Lots of little frames and keepsakes that you can get with or for your pictures.
It is so nice to see the mall revived! It has gone from mostly empty and dying to a hub again on the weekends. We even got to witness a free tuba concert around Christmas time.
We were told growing up that indoor shopping malls were in decline. River Ridge is proving that was wrong. River Ridge has a wide variety of stores and a good overall aesthetic. From coffee shops to candy shops to inflatable bounce houses for kids, there's something there for everyone. The indoor playground for kids is a nice bonus.
My family moved to Lynchburg when I was 4 years old, and the mall was being built at that time. But up until maybe a little more than 5 years ago, hardly anyone shopped at the mall anymore. It had gotten very run down. Many stores had closed. And the mall had lost its original charm. However, THAT HAS ALL CHANGED. When the new owners came in, they were told that the mall could never be revitalized, but boy, did these new owners prove them wrong. The mall is beautiful to walk around in. The choices of stores range from the affordable TJ Maxx and HomeGoods to boutiques that only a few can afford. But it is an enjoyable experience again. And no matter what time of day or what day of the week we go there now, we have a hard time even finding an open parking place anywhere close. It used to be a ghost lot. Take the time to go there again if you haven't in the last two years, because it has gotten even better.
