River Woods Country Store & Gas/Subway

Friendly ,helpful employees ..fairly busy ,gas convenient ,but higher price than in town. Decent beverage selection and pretty good local pizza slices .

The cashiers are rude never had a good experience here they just hire druggies in drug addicts in criminals too work here plus the gas prices are 50 cents to a buck more per gallon more then anywhere else the subway always looks dirty and the people making the food probably shouldn't be touching food at all

The gentleman with the black nose ring working The gas pumps this morning, this review is for you. every time my kiddos and I get gas this Young man is typically working he always has a smile on his face, he’s very polite and very helpful the pump this AM would not take my card without a pin, well my card does not have a pin on it so he said I would have to pay inside I stated I’ll just go to another gas station I’m in my Slippers he said no worries! I’ll take it in for you even though there was people at the other pumps he took my card in and paid for it real quick like I have had this happen before and every other gas station never offered they always had me go inside it was a small favor that he offered that completely made my day it’s nice to see they’re still good customer service in the world we are living in today To go above and beyond your typical duties is a dying trait common chivalry is dying. so seeing it live again was a big deal. My young boys were in the jeep with me and even commented “wow he was really nice mom what a gentleman, “ what a positive impact that small favor had on everyone we hope this gentleman continues to work at This local gas station regardless of the prices my husband and I will continue to come in and support just for the service

Wow! Stopped to get diesel and couldn’t get in the normal spot to fuel. Noticed the hose on the diesel pump was a lot longer than the other hoses. We were able to pull up at the end of the island to fuel our truck. I was cleaning the windshield when some man from inside the store came walking up and turned off the pump and started removing the fuel handle from my truck. As I noticed this I was trying to get over to him and find out what was going on. He literally turned away and walked back inside. I have to assume he didn’t like how we parked to get fuel? Ridiculously poor customer service as he could have at least explained what the issue was. Really sad that he felt the need to behave like this.

Mary was so polite and overall amazing! She was so kind and helpful when I needed directions around town. Thank you for your help and kindness. We need more people like her working customer service.

The pizza is so bad, it's good, and it's strangely addictive. The staff can be a little surly, but I'm pretty sure these guys work 7 days a week, and they have to deal with tourists, so I can't blame them. Be nice. Their prices on many things are wrong or missing. But it's there, they have pizza and donuts, it's clean, and the coffee is good.

Lazy attendant, wouldn't pump propane !!! Stood around with his hands in his pockets between pumping gas. Said they were to short staffed to pump propane. That's ok, Arco AmPm was more than happy to take my $30 for propane.

Love this place! I've lived in DRW most of my life, and while the store can be overpriced, it's extremely convenient if you're near by. And it's a great spot to watch trains if you're anything like me. There's a nice little sort of park area. I always go there to get my old truck filled too, since they sell no ethenol gas at a decent price. The staff can be slightly rude at times, but if you get to know them they're actually pretty cool people. A lot of them that I've met don't have the easiest lives, so don't hate on them if they're having a bad day.

I just came to the riverwoods country store and clearly asked for $25 regular fuel in my truck and told the cashier twice $25 regular fuel. when it was finished I got my reciept for $92.93! they filled my truck instead of the $25 I asked for and put it all my debit card. when I mentioned that I only asked for $25 the gas pump attendant went to the cashier and asked him and he said he thought I asked for a fill. I asked for a manager as i cant afford to pay that much more then i needed and he told me he was the manager and there was nothing he was willing to do to fix this as it was already charged to my card.he refused to refund me the difference. terrible customer service. I would not recommend them. they will obviously rip their customers off for a which buck.
