I have been a patient of Dr. Rivera’s for years. Today I arrived for my appointment, and his office is no longer requiring masks for patients or staff. I am disgusted to see that a doctor whose specialty is autoimmune diseases and diabetes, all high risk patients, would discontinue requiring masks in a health care setting. The pandemic isn’t over. Louisiana has exceptionally high COVID transmission rates right now. You’re putting your patients at risk. When I brought this up to the front desk staff, she smirked and asked if I was vaccinated vaccines don’t prevent transmission. I sat outside to wait for my appointment, and the front desk staff mocked me for taking off my mask while sitting alone outside. This kind of behavior is completely and utterly unacceptable. Your patients are at high risk, and your staff is mocking them for trying to protect their own health. Why not allow smoking in your office? It’s the same insane reasoning. Shame on you
Dr. Rivera is a wonderful physician. He spends lots of time with me and answers all of my concerns. The time you have to wait before seeing him is a little long, but it’s worth it.
I was going in as a new patient. I was not forewarned nor told that the wait To see the doctor would be three hours plus! Unfortunately, I had to leave to get back to work. The front desk only offered me another appointment for months later. I heard this doctor was good, but this experience was atrocious! I truly Had hoped for more!
Good doctor. Staff overbooks appointments. Wait time for visit over 1.5 hours. His nurse doesn't return calls/ refill prescriptions. Staff says they give his nurse the messages. His other patients complain in the waiting room about the wait times for same doctor.
Dr rivera is amazing. He is very nive, knowledgable, does not make you feel pressured for time. However, his staff can be extremely rude. Wait times are usually long, due to the doctor not pressuring you for time.
this office staff is horrible i wait at lease 3/4 hours before i’m called back to see the nurse for vitals and then an hour for the dr and i only wait cause i like dr rivera to the fullest! but to have his staff fax my labs to three different lab corps. after i gave them the fax info, well this was really not good.. took me several weeks to actually get my labs to the correct lab corp. not to mention i had an appt. with lab corp twice and still nothing faxed, and thts after several calls to the office from the lab corp. i really think this office over books appts. and is only part of the reason for such horrible service at the desk! think i may need to start looking for another dr. to visit
Dr. Rivera was not the issue. His staff is awful. I needed a medication, and they refused to submit a preauthorization to my insurance company. His staff told me they only do preauthorizations certain days of the week and I would have to wait an entire week before she would call it in.
Great doctor for thyroid issues. Waits in the office always pretty long, usually an hour. Visit does not feel rushed though once you are in.
I love Dr. Rivera. Bring a book with you because the wait is long but he is worth it.
Dr. Rivera has been my primary physician for over twenty years. I am extremely happy with his professionalism and care he has provided me with all these years.
