Great brewery! Liked the lager very much on a hot day. Food menu looked good too. Next time!
We went there on a Friday night and I was very disappointed. The service was awful. When we ordered a drink off the menu, the server asked what it was. We had to tell him it was on the menu. He returned and told us they didn’t have the stuff to make it although it was on the menu. We ordered a pitcher of beer and some ciders. We were told they were out of the cider we ordered but they had another “sweeter” one. I ordered one and what was delivered looked like a glass of sourpuss and smelled like it too. It tasted like watered down cool aid mixed with cider. I did not finish it. My friends tried to order one of their Caesar’s. It was on the menu again, they were out. They ordered a mix drink that said there was tequila in it but when it arrived it had vodka in it. I am aware it is a brewery however if you have something on your menu you should be able to make it and make it well. We decided to roll the dice and order some appetizers to share. We ordered the nachos and spinach dip. They would have been alright except the chips were stale. I was thoroughly disappointed in my experience at Riverhead considering it was a Saturday night with a good band playing. They were obviously not prepared for such a crowd.
Extremely disappointing is the best way to describe the evening with my latest experience at Riverhead. I need to start by saying the beer is great. My issue is the food, and how the quality has nose dived. I went there tonight and ordered a pizza, tacos, and the pretzel for a date night. The pizza came out and I was utterly shocked by what the waitress brought over. The pizza was no bigger than a mini personal Pillsbury pizza, like it wouldn't even cover a small tea saucer side plate. The waitress said it was a standard dough ball and just didn't pull like normal, but I'm sorry $15 for 4 tiny slices is just sad. To even bring it out to a customer, shows there was a serious lack of caring about standards. What makes this worse is, I've had pizza here several times, I've raved about it to people, all the times have been great, this time I cannot believe what came out. I did mention it to the waitress, and to her credit she told the cook and they took $5 off and explained the normal cook wasn't on shift, but even then, $10 for the equivalent of a Pillsbury personal pizza is a disappointment. The rest of the food we ordered was disappointing, the tacos were dry, cold, and like the pizza just underwhelming and not anywhere close to worth the price. I often come here with people from work to grab a pint and a bite to eat, I don't think we'll continue this. I'll buy the beer at the LCBO, but with how disappointing the food was tonight, it's less trouble to throw a Pillsbury frozen personal pizza in the toaster oven and get the same quality for 1/10th of the price.
Let me start by saying the beer is great and the pizza is fantastic! HOWEVER, we planned a drive back home around a stop here for the delicious pizza and we stopped at 5:25PM to be told the kitchen was closed, to be fair it was a Sunday and the hours do state that they close at 6PM but that still seems excessive to be told that 35 minutes before closing the the kitchen is closed? It really is a shame, we always made a a point to stop on road trips for food and beer to go and this experience has really soured us. That said the beer and pizza really is fantastic.
I love this place! Such a friendly staff and they help you find the right beer for you! Beers are amazing! There is a really good mix of anything you may like. Did not try the food but it smells amazing! Highly suggest visiting
Awesome brewery! They have a great choice of beer and it’s available on tap or cans to go. Their interior design is amazing! As you can see in the photos, there are canoes on the ceiling to add detail to the interior design. Lots of parking space at this location. I wish they could make a patio area in the front of the store.
Amazing service and a cozy atmosphere; what else can I say? Friendly staff who got me seated and served right away, and I received my food at an incredible speed! Great food and even greater beer, nothing like being able to try all the options and then walk out the front door with a 2-4 of your favourite brew in your hands.
The owner here is awesome - friendly staff and all of their beers are a must try! Their beers are authentically made, for an example their German beer is made from wheat from German which they fly in or their Mexican beer is made from corn exactly how they do it in Mexico! If you’re ever driving through stop at Riverhead!
I included pictures with this to hopefully clear up these "best burger ever" reviews. That was bar none the worst 1/3 of a hamburger I have ever eaten and I don't just mean at a restaurant. Aside from the fact it very clearly is pre-formed and came out of a Sysco box, it had very clearly turned. The bacon on top is the microwave pre-booked bacon you get at Walmart and was cold. The aged cheddar was processed American and not in any way aged. The kettle chips were mostly crumbs as can be seen in the photos and stale. I'm sure the beer is great but the food is awful. As an added bonus we weren't offered cutlery or napkins. And before anyone says I am doing this for free food, not even if they paid me would I go back. Not that the gentleman working made any offer when we expressed our concerns.
Very fine selection of ales and lagers with a emphasis on IPA. The Oktoberfest was spot on perfect and so was the Tropical IPA at 6.1% and 6o IBU. Tidy, spotless, and efficient setup with comfortable bench tables and bar stools. Lits of room for groups. Artistic hand-painted paddles on the walls add to the nice atmosphere. We had really superb sandwiches and kettlechips for lunch. The kitchen is on point. Check out the cheeky glass that has a "re-order line". I bought one just for that.
