Since its opening on New Year’s Eve, 1987, The Riverhorse has been highly regarded by both restaurant critics and the dining public. In 1995, the Riverhorse became the first restaurant in Utah to receive the DiRōNA Award. This very prestigious honor, dedicated to “excellence in dining,” was bestowed that year on only 223 restaurants inl of North America. On January 16th, 2000 the Riverhorse received the ultimate honor in the hospitality industry, when it was again selected in 2012 for this by the Mobil Travel Guide as one of the top 108 restaurants in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
