What an amazing evening and dinner we have me and my guests. The service outstanding the food was out-of this world so well made and prepared. And the view to the bridge was breathtakingFood: 5/5
The meals were excellent here. We had a larger party and everyone loved their choices. Servers were nice and accomodating and the outdoor seating was very nice. Excellent cocktails. Would recommend.Food: 5/5
We rented the private room for my mom's birthday and it worked out perfectly! Everyone from the manager and his employees to the waiters and waitresses were soooooo nice and professional. Always appreciated, but even more so when it's a special occasion. One guy with long black hair not sure if the general manager or he reported to the GM went above and beyond to help us work the tv in the room and show a surprise video, playing it a second time once the audio was louder, just so everyone could hear it better. He even stayed later than he was supposed to, just so he could help us, which was incredibly kind. The drinks were good and strong, and I really liked the vegetable appetizers. The pizza was good, the pappardelle and Caesar salad were fine, and the brownie dessert with ice cream was delicious. The other desserts were apparently good too. They also lowered the restaurant music to allow us to hear the video better and helped regulate the temperature in the private room, and there was a heater in there when we arrived. Nice touch. Would definitely come back!
I was so looking forward to trying this spot for awhile now, and I was underwhelmed. A party of 6 went here for dinner last night. Great ambiance inside. Waters were poured quickly and refilled often. Took awhile to order drinks but no big deal. I ordered a white pizza with clams and while it was good, there was no clams. I told the server and response was oh yea I didn’t put it in. What do you mean? Not even a sorry? Entrees came. My brothers fiancé commented immediately the garlic mashed potatoes were bagged and not homemade I tried them myself and I agreed, the burgers were average, the scallops and salmon were very good! We ordered dessert, and crème brûlée was tasty, but my friend said her coconut cake was frozen, I took a bite and I agreed with her. Then Lordy the bill came. Brother and fiancé paid $160 cash, i put $165 on my credit card for me and my husband, and the remaining 2 split it. I was charged only $66, they were very overcharged. I told the server the split was wrong and she said “I heard $66” condescendingly. So she room cards back and charged me $165 this time, but my 2 friends were charged an extra $10 more than what they should have. Asked for a manager and he came over unsympathetically. I explained what happened and he said “machines do that on their own” and walked away to fix it. He never came back, bills were not fixed on my friends credit card statements. No disclosure anywhere about 20% tip for large parties. I didn’t think 6 was large because they don’t accept reservations for under parties of 8. Disappointed and won’t be back.
If you absolutely need to have an outside dining experience, just know this is mostly paying rent for that space. The food was almost a punishment. I ordered RIVERMARKET SALAD, which is described as "local baby lettuces & seasonal vegetables, fresh ricotta, chardonnay vinaigrette." What arrived was definitely probably the largest dish of greens I've ever been served. Almost absurdly so. However, the "salad" was really as though someone had purchased an extra large spring mix and dumped it into a giant bowl. Hardly any dressing. The ricotta was *thinly* spread on top on two tomato slices. It was so thin, I thought eventually I was going to finally find large spoonfuls hiding somewhere. But, no... There were shavings of carrot and beet and radish but at a level I'd consider garnish, not part of a salad. For $18, it should be a balanced experience with about 1/3 of the greens they gave me, and enough Ricotta to actually taste it! I mean, it was almost comical how little they managed to put on. Talk about cheap! But also so pricey for them to be this cheap. They also had wasp traps up right near the tables which- if you read the instructions- you're not supposed to have near people. Naturally, this meant we ended up having wasps next to the food. As soon as a table was available, we asked to move away from the wasp traps. I wish I had taken a pic but I was with a group of people I didn't know well and didn't want to ruin our time by focusing on my disappointment. I managed to eat half the salad by telling myself "well, it's food." Yeah, that bad. Nice view! Food, not so much.
We decided to dine here because it looked like a cute place. After we were seated, it took 10 mins before we even got a server to come around our table. We waited for a considerable amount of time for our food to arrive. Lobster bisque did not meet our expectations. It had almost no flavor except for the taste of tomato and salt. The pizza though was not bad. Our server was very nice and helpful. I honestly think they were too busy/understaffed to tend to the tables in a timely manner.
As a Manhattan transplant being hyper critical is my life blood, but this is a gem on the Hudson that does not disappoint. It is truly the place to be for dinner and drinks on any night of the week. I would say it's 5 star, however their menu is not updated to reflect dietary restrictions such as gluten-free/dairyfree, etc. Also gluten free pizza crust guys, come on! Otherwise, it's my new favorite place to be and the bar is top notch.
Deirdre, our server, was pleasant and friendly when she greeted us promptly for dinner. She gave us some recommendations with the menu. The Heirloom tomatoes with burrata, the crab po’boy and surf and turf were delicious. My date and I would have ordered desserts, but we were too full. Glenn, the owner, offered us each a night cap. We had a sweet and memorable night. Thank you, River Market Bar and Kitchen.
Started going to this hip and interesting restaurant in the condos off the Hudson Riverwalk park last year. Nice people but terrible service outside, food started out good and interesting last Autumn but has gone down hill. Singles crowd seems to enjoy..very noisy and crowded..food sub par and expensive. They always run out of fish early..
