Riverside Intermediate School

This year has been the worse year ever for my daughter and I. I have fought all summer for answers and I have gotten no where....I really should have seen the red flags in the beginning of the year when they changed her classroom without notification...I didn't find out until my daughter came home complaining about her supplies missing...When I called to discuss with whom I thought was her teacher, just to find out she had been moved....there is no communication with the parents about your child's progress and when reaching out to the asst. Superintendent all he can say is moving forward this will take place or that will take place...I as a parent can care less about moving forward because my child will not be there...it's very disturbing that we as parents entrusted these people to educate our children and they have done nothing this year but failed mine and I'm sure she isn't the only one...Swinney should step down...because prior to her I thought very highly of riverside....there is a saying that "if the head is sick, so is the body" the entire administration staff should resign or receive additional training on proper etiquette dealing with parents and students!!!!

The school no that my child have problems n they call defense 2 my home cause of what my child be lieing about thats why my child home school now cause they believe him they the reason my kids had got tooking the first time i can deal with my kids get tooking from me smh

Horrible staff, not a big regard for students, the teachers are there just to get a pay check

Best school ever been there since the second grade and I learn a lot there. I hope you can bring your kids here

These are some of the worst reviews that I've ever seen! Some of which, doesn't even make sense. From my standpoint of being a parent & a teacher, you see obstacles in just about every & any school, including daycare centers. Ultimately, instructors want to see children succeed. We as parents can't teach kids what need to be taught at school & neither can teachers teach children what needs to be taught at home. We have to work together to better the lives of our children. We can't fault teachers & principles for everything that happens in the school house, although we do still take responsibility because it is indeed our responsibility. Attending PTA meetings, community outreach events, etc is a GREAT way to help build the foundation for the school that your child is attending.... We had a community clean up event last year & only a handful of people attended, literally. Including school officials so if you're not a part of the solution, you're a part of the problem so don't complain. My question is, what have you done to help make the situation better, besides ranting and raving, yelling & screaming?

Total lack of communication, send home work, sits in folder for days then told hasn’t been turned in. Constant reminders of activities fee and friday tshirt, month now still waiting on tshirt told they were waiting to get them in.

I love this school because it has good education

Riverside Intermediate elementary school has some of the most horrible attitudes, aggressive, unhelpful, unmotivated, careless staff I have ever encountered at a school. It's been nothing short of a nightmarish experience at this school and it saddens me deeply to think of all the students who are given this type of negative energy. The staff does not care. From the secretary at the door to the principle and a lot if not all of the staff are just there for a paycheck. If you have any concerns about your child and you can bring it to any administrators attention you will be ignored even if a meeting is scheduled. Everything is the parents fault and they believe we are lazy. It's so sad to see the future of our children in the hands of people who could careless if they ate breakfast that morning. Dr. Swinney abuses her position by refusing to discuss anything at all about my child after he was missing for hours yet called the police to handle her dirty work. Pray for the school students and educators.

It was an excellent school when I went long time ago and the staff were kind loving and understanding

I'm in this school but also I like my other school in Tennesse.We are river role model have a good day every one
