Riverside Natural Health Center now open in Middlebury, VT.
Riverside Natural Health Center (RNHC)is located at 5 Park Street in the Star Mill Building in Middlebury. RNHC was founded by four licensed health professionals—Nieve Shere (acupuncture), Chenoa Hamilton (midwifery), and Stephanie Powers (massage)—who offer primary and specialized care for both families and individuals.
Riverside Natural Health Center hosted its grand opening celebration on Friday, October 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. at their office.

Practitioner Biographies
Nieve Shere holds a Masters of Science in Ethnobotany from the University of Kent in England and a Masters of Science in Acupuncture from Tri-State College of Acupuncture, one of the oldest accredited schools of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in the United States. She graduated with honors and sat on the college’s Advisory Board. Trained in the styles of Master practitioners Kiiko Matsumoto and Dr. Mark Seem, she received hands-on clinical instruction in three styles of acupuncture; Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese Acupuncture, and Acupuncture Physical Medicine. Nieve is NY and VT State licensed, Board Certified in Acupuncture through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, CCAOM certified in Clean Needle Technique, and AHA certified in both adult and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR & NRP). Nieve is also a trained Labor Support Doula through Doula’s of North America (DONA) and completed postgraduate training in Acupuncture for Labor and Delivery and Stroke Rehabilitation at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. She also externed at the St. Vincent’s Rape Crisis Program in NYC specializing in PTSD, anxiety, and depression. In 2010, Nieve volunteered for a busy childbirth center in Haiti where she provided labor support and acupuncture care during pregnancy, and assisted the midwives with prenatal, neonatal, and postpartum care.
Chenoa Hamilton is a Traditional Midwife, a Certified Professional Midwife through North American Registry of Midwives (NARM), Licensed Midwife in the state of Vermont, a certified doula, Certified Lactation Consultant and Emergency Medical Technician. Additionally, Chenoa is certified by the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP & BLS) in cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults, infants, and newborns. Chenoa has been attending births since 1997. Having completed a three-year, traditional midwifery program, and apprenticed in a high-volume water birth center in Portland, Oregon. During that time, Chenoa also volunteered with Doula Circle, a program that provided doula services for teen mothers, a commitment that she currently maintains by offering childbirth education and support to families. In 2006 Chenoa moved with her family to Vermont, where she worked as primary midwife at naturopathic midwifery practice Salisbury Natural Family Health. In 2010 Chenoa volunteered as the primary midwife for a busy birth center in Jacmel, Haiti with sister and licensed acupuncturist Nieve Shere, leading to the eventual start of Jumelles Wellness Midwifery Acupuncture in 2013.
Stephanie Powers has been in massage practice since 1999. She takes pride in creating an atmosphere that nurtures the body's natural ability for healing, relaxing, and rejuvenation. She believes in attention to detail, awareness of each client's particular physiology, and working to create a true benefit in the lives of her clients.
