Boatnik is always an event. The place was crowded and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Not too many strange beings wandering around. The young people manning the gate to the handicap parking area were wonderful. They spent a long day there. Of course, funnel cake just had to be bought! Same people serving it for many years. They graduated to a bigger trailer this year. Then it started to sprinkle and the drag boat race was canceled until tomorrow.
Great park! Very big playground. Our kids love it!! The big downside is seeing tents & homelessness in the park. We didn't feel safe there and didn't dare to stay long even though our kids were having a lot of fun.
Most of the park has been cleaned up. I am now comfortable taking my kids there at least. Not able to play disc golf there anymore, as some of the coarse is now a campsite for our burgeoning homeless population. If the city can find a better place than our parks to accommodate homeless people, it would rate much higher, and GP taxpayers would be a lot more satisfied with our city governance in general.
Stopped here on our road trip and it was absolutely perfect! The splash pad came on shortly after we arrived and baby girl LOVED it. We were able to walk around, see the ducks, play on the playground and even eat a little snack at the picnic tables. Just the break from our car ride we needed! Playground: Huge playground lots of different toys. Baby girl loved the baby swings! Restrooms: They were a little strange with half doors that didn't lock but they worked? Dog-friendliness: The park was huge so different areas catered to different events! Picnic area: Lots of picnic tables around to choose from...near the park, away from it.
I LOVE this beautiful park! I take my dog there almost every day and we really like how well it is kept up. It's big enough to have a interesting and lengthy walk. Parking is wonderful, there are numerous of ways to enter it.
So happy the park is back open with one of the best splash pads I have ever been to! Splash pad is 12-7 everyday! We felt totally safe. The unhoused community stays to that park area off the road basically out of the park and even though we do have to walk by them, they were all kind and posing no threat. There will also be a community park clean up event at this park every Sunday at 9am. My kids have the best time. We have been going everyday since the park opened back up. Come play!
Went to memorial weekend BoatNick, it was super fun to spend time with family. The food and rides were good! Playground: A lot of equipment
This park has a great playground and neat splash pad / spray park. It's right on the river and has plenty of tall trees for shade. However there are way too many homeless people. You must keep your eyes on your kids the whole time because you have no idea what they are going to discover needles or worse.
Great river accessibility and the swings are very durable and entertaining. The cleaning crew from Aspire works so hard I'm part of the cleaning crew from Aspire to keep the trash cans in order. you can thank me later
Went to Boatnik. Had a good time. Stayed till the fireworks show. Had a traditional corn dog and the amazing root beer. Also got this wonderful soft ice cream on a waffle cone. Nice seeing everyone able to be celebrating life again.
