Security there is trash. They are just there to be on your way. Tax money wasted flagrantly by the transportation commissioner sitting in her office while the working people pay for her salary. Pathetic job.
Picked up my friend Jessica and her son Alex. Cold autumn morning around 8:40 am now. She should be here already.
Noise pollution for miles. Trains blow their horns all day and night as if people wouldn’t know trains are on train tracks. Safety crossing equipment, people tracking and making sure trains are on time, and the noise they make already are dead giveaways to the giant machines presence. It’s not just a horn blow, it’s fifty arrhythmic bursts. Kill Bill level gratuitous blood spattering of horn blowing. Decent mode of transportation but extremely unsettling for people in surrounding areas.
As I waited for the train to take me home, I was amazed one of the outdoor seating areas sprayed fine mists of water too cool off passengers waiting in the extremely dry heat! The cool spray felt WONDERFUL! Bless the hearts of whomever came up with that idea!
The Mega Bus also has a drop off and pickup here. The station is clean and well maintained. There is 24 hour roving parking security here and security cameras. The lot is locked after the last bus/train. It is safe to leave your car overnight and for multiple days. I've left mine for a week but I did let security know. One of the nicest stations on the Metrolink line.
Free parking. Close to freeway and downtown Riverside. Lots of benches that are covered for waiting.
Don't be me and do yourself a favor, ask the securities for the platform number, train number, scheduled times, etc. Amazingly enough, it's not a staffed station so the guards double as Metrolink/Amtrak agents and are a wealth of information; so please be patient with them. Except if they are racists security guards, then feel free to speak up.
Haven't seen a coffee vending machine yet. It would be so nice! Do wear warm clothes, as it can get very chilly there, especially when the trains go by.
Nice and clean small station, but the down fall is there is NO public restroom...I had to hold my pee pee until my Amtrak train arrived at station for me to aboard and pay my water bill! Uhhh!
Horrible....the guys washing the sidewalk down at the terminal especially Adam who works for bus sysyem were very rude after i spilled my drink in purse. I had everything out cleanimg my purse amd they cpuldnt waita few min and rushed me to move as i moved i left a bag of clothing worth $100 and i realized i didnt have it after the rushed me to move. I was so upset ...i was looking through all the garbages...then it dawned on me they stole it!!!!!
