Riverside Walter Reed Hospital is a 67-bed acute care facility located in Gloucester, Virginia. With 24-hour emergency services, a 12,000 square foot Intensive Care Unit, state-of-the-art technology, a complete range of outpatient services a highly professional caring staff and more than 50 outstanding area physicians, Riverside Walter Reed provides comprehensive health care services to the communities of the Middle Peninsula. As a part of Riverside Health System, they also have direct access to Riverside Regional Medical Center's Level II Trauma Center, nationally recognized Heart Center and 18-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Riverside Walter Reed's 30-plus acre campus includes the Riverside Wellness and Fitness Center, Middle Peninsula Cancer Institute, Riverside Home Care and the Riverside Physical Therapy Suite including Nutrition, Speech, Hand and Occupational Therapy. Specialty Practices and Services include Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology and Sleep Center, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Physiatry, Urology, Vascular and Women's Health and Wellness. The campus also includes Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and General Surgery practices.
In addition, there are multiple Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics offices as well as an Urgent Care serving the Middle Peninsula. Riverside operates several Convalescent Centers and Sanders Retirement Village, the only full continuing care retirement community in the area. Riverside also operates the first fully deinstitutionalized nursing home in Virginia – Heron Cove at Sanders.
