We are at the cancer center in this Hospital. My mom has to have 12 treatments of chemo. Our appt was at 10:30am and we arrived at 10:20am. Right on time she was placed in a nice seat by a beautiful glass wall that you can see the outside. Her port was accessed and blood was withdrawn. At 11:00 she was asked if she could go back outside to wait for the blood results because they were running out of chairs for treatment. As we go out, another patient that was waiting in the lobby, was moved to my mom’s spot. 20 min latter my mother was called and seated in a “closet” just 4 walls, there was no room for me to sit by her. Now, I know my mom’s treatment doesn’t depend on the place she seats but….moving her to a less desirable spot so someone else better liked or better known can have the nicer one was in my opinion very unprofessional. I felt my mother was less important to the staff. And I wished they could have the heart to treat every patient equally, regarding their skin color. This is how we felt, there could be a different explanation for all that happened but it looked pretty straight forward from our angle. Update: by 1 pm she was moved to a different chair with more room without us asking for it. This was a nice gesture but the situation already left a bad taste in our mouths.
I am so amazed and feel so blessed at the care everyone here from doctors, nurses, housekeeping , kitchen , everyone here is absolutely wonderful and very attentive with patients and their families. They have been so good to my baby and are quick to check on her every time something changes. Doctor came in and blew bubbles for my baby .. made her feel comfortable and smiles..I recommend riverton hospital primary children's 100 % .. you are such a blessing
Had an absolutely traumatic experience here with my first birth. I went into the L&D at 5:30am due to having contractions. My daughters heart rate was raising and dropping. The nurse came in and asked me to move on my left side and then snapped at me after I moved to my left side and said “the other side”. I proceeded to move to my other side for her when she started pressing EXTREMELY HARD on my baby to try to get her to move to when she proceeded to flatline. I had finger print bruising on my stomach and pelvis after my daughter started flatlining they looked at me and said “we’re having this baby right now” to where I listened to the nurses constantly murmur that my child wasn’t breathing all the way to the delivery room. I was take to the back room for a Emergency C-Section when I proceeded to ask the doctors what was going on, and I understand when in a rush it’s hard to communicate what’s happening but there where at least 3 nurses in the room just watching me and yelling at me to calm down. Another nurse grabbed the anesthesia and pressed the mask to hard on my face I couldn’t breathe . They weren’t even delivering the anesthesia yet. After I woke up I was offered a epidural but was in and out of consciousness, I signed the for the epidural after it took place to when my partner and mother watched the doctor poke my spine MULTIPLE TIMES and only switched out the needle once. I woke up and found out I got staples. I tried asking multiple doctors the step by step on how my procedure went and absolutely no one could give me any information. Nurses where getting angry at me and being rude during pelvic checks to where my legs couldn’t stop shaking and my body would severely tense up because of how traumatic everything was, showed absolutely no empathy or support. There was only one nurse who actually communicated with me and was delicate, I wish I remembered her name she genuinely knew what she was doing and had personal experience with C-section recovery and was actually honest and had clear communication. My OB wasn’t even there unfortunately until after the doctor had already stapled me shut. I had a follow up appointment with my OB and she agreed it was an unprofessional experience and very distasteful how the staff treated me. She wasn’t even there for the procedure and could tell me more on how a C-Section is preformed. I couldn’t even touch my scar without shaking or crying from distress. I thank my child being here, and for awhile I was ignoring how traumatic my experience truly was because I was so thankful my child was here. I reflect now and see how unprofessional my doctors and nurses where and still get nightmares from my experience 6 months later.
We went here for a stress test to check blood flow, an echocardiogram. I waited in the lobby. A great place to enjoy the surroundings. Very busy hospital and the nurses and doctors are great. Very professional. You might even see your neighbors working there. It's right of the freeway and easy access if you have a real emergency. A huge deal for anyone who has loved ones in need!
Good hospital! Very clean! But your experience depends on the doctor and their staff. We had good experience mostly except on few incidents. ER, Instacare are good and provide excellent care! Bad experience : Pediatric doctor who checked my kid after birth diagnosed incorrectly and scared us to death. Our Primary care provider does not come here to this hospital even though hospital and him are in same Insurance network. Our kid suffered unnecessarily and the diagnosis came back all normal. No apology from the doctor. We were happy to leave the hospital at that time & too drained to do anything. Luckily we had decent insurance and it covered the expense.
Receptionist Sarah keeps hanging up the phone on me and my family members . Riverton hospital doctor from ER told us it’s urgent to see a neurologist last week . We’ve called plenty of times and every time we get told to wait for a call back . I’ve had 2 rushes to the ER since the first time I called them . Had another seizure yesterday and paramedics told me I’m in bad shape and need to see a neaurologist. I tried to express that to Sarah this morning at the neurologist office . And she hung up the phone on me I called back and she places me on hold every time I talk and then hangs up . I’ve expressed to her how both the doctors from the ER and the paramedics have told me to ask for doctor of the day and be seen urgently and Sarah and the other younger lady who work there don’t want to do their job I’ve gave them my number multiple times and they never call back . My health is at risk I don’t want to get another seizure while I wait for them to call . And Sarah has no respect no customer service and a lot of attitude laughing on the phone , hanging up and being sarcastic . I’m see if I was Caucasian it would be different let’s hope her family doesn’t have to go thru this and get constant seizures and get hung up on . Don’t recommend this place especially if you have to deal with Sarah at front desk .
They took great care of my 1-year-old who had to spend a few nights in the hospital. They provided some amenities to help us feel comfortable and some toys to keep him happy. We feel very grateful for all the doctors and staff who took care of him! Everyone was so kind and answered all our questions.
I went in for surgery and Danae, Leah, and both dr Wilson’s were great. They all made my experience as great as it could have been. Lots of banter and fun conversation and messing around the whole time, it really lightened the mood and made it a pleasant experience.
Staff was great and very attentive and caring. Had to wait in the ER for over an hour and a half just to get X-ray results. Felt like it took way longer than it needed to, disappointing. At the ER for over 3 hours.
This hospital is #1 as far as I’m concerned. From my experience from the ER with Dr. French to Dr. Klimes doctor that took care of me for my stay The nurses, CNA’s, housekeepers and dietary staff are awesome! The care I received was top notch. I really appreciated the kindness of everyone. If you ever have to go to a hospital ER or Inpatient come here. And one last thing, the food was really good unheard of for hospital food. Thanks to everyone for taking care me. I appreciate all of you!
