RiverView Diner

8/8/23 - My family loves diners. When we drove past River View Diner, we knew a u-turn was about to happen. We ordered three burgers and an omelette which were all very good. The waitstaff was very attentive. Ample off-street parking. We will be back.Food: 5/5

All around good experience!! We traveled to New Jersey and decided to stop for lunch. Hostess was very polite and friendly, waiters were prompt & accessible and you would see them before you attempt to get their attention. Food also was of good quality. And most importantly, before exiting I used the bathroom, and that’s were you know that they’re all good, It was sparkling clean! and a pleasant surprise. I meet the owner on my way out, very friendly and polite. Stop by and try for yourself, I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

Very good salad. The chicken was fresh and taste very good. I was pleased with the service and speed. 04/07/2023 I FINALLY returned to visit Riverview Diner One of my favorite Diners in New Jersey! Friendly staff, wonderful service I had a delicious chocolate egg cream The fries were fresh and delicious The pizza burger you can tell was delicious but be careful, the sauce goes everywhere. I sat by the desserts but you get a good amount of food so no need for dessert I can’t wait for my next trip here!

Talk about authentic diner energy! Love this family owned spot, the food was affordable and delish. The service was spectacular, it felt like our server just knew what we needed before we had the opportunity to ask. First time here. There is no actual "river view" but that didn't bother me. The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is clean. I would say — an upscale diner — as opposed to a typical NJ greasy spoon kind of place. Service was great, fast and friendly. I had the London Broil dinner special and it was very good. French Onion Soup was ok but nothing special. I prefer when the cheese is melted and charred a bit ... not just melted. Also, I'm not sure what kind of cheese they used, maybe provolone. I prefer swiss and/or gruyere. Anyway, their French Onion was just okay. My baked potato was not good, to be honest. It was more like a reheated baked potato, that had never been fully cooked. I would definitely go again but next time I would order something different and get fries or mashed potatoes. The sign out front says, "Open 24 Hours" but they told us since Covid hit, they are not open 24 hours anymore. I'm guessing lack of help.

Visited yesterday with a group of teenagers after visit to New York City. Immediately, we were greeted warmly and seated. Our server arrived soon after and once again we were greeted warmly. Drinks quickly arrived after being ordered. A third person continued to visit our table and refill our water glasses numerous times. Our food arrived promptly and was perfect. The entire time we were here, our entire group felt welcomed and appreciated. Although I don't live in the area, I will be back whenever I venture this way. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a traditional New Jersey Diner who appreciates your business!
