Road's End Farm is heaven on earth for girls and their families! Both of my daughters spent some of the BEST times of their lives at this horsemanship camp. It is a place of love and compassion for everyone including the horses. The entire staff cares about each camper and they are paying attention with such patience and gentleness for the growth of each person. The first time either of my daughters went away to an overnight camp was at Roads End Farm, and I felt positive about the communication and respect. I am so grateful for ALL of experiences over the years for our family.
I was fortunate to be a camper at Road's End Farm from middle school through high school. Like other reviewers have said, it is heaven on earth and every young horse lover's dream. I made lasting friendships and some of my very best memories while I was at Road's End. I learned true horsemanship during my time there - but I also learned compassion, responsibility, and an incredible work ethic and loved every single second of it. If you are considering sending your child to Road's End Farm and have the ability to do so, it will be a gift that will last them a lifetime.
We will be dropping off our daughter in the morning for her fifth year of camp at Road's End. This is a place that words are hard to describe. My daughter is heartbroken every year when she leaves and can't stop talking about all the horses she rode and the new friends she has made. The staff is amazing and the college aged counselors are fantastic. Unfortunately, this is her last year and I can guarantee there will be a void in her heart. If you are looking for a safe, nurturing environment that instills the right values in your child, Road's End is the place. WE can't say enough about this wonderful camp.
There is no other place like roads end farm, I spent 5 years as a camper, one year as a CIT, and I can only hope my daughter will be able to attend when she is old enough. I cant say enough good things about this camp. You will not be disappointed if you are thinking about sending your daughter. She will come out of camp loving life and begging to go back. I have made life long friendships over the years with girls all over the world. While bonding over the herd of 70+ horses, you are learning about responsibility, and kindness for everyone and everything. I have gone back many times to visit, spent some winters there, as well as spent a few Columbus day weekends. It is an amazing place, go see for yourself!!
My daughter first experienced this wonderful camp last summer 2013. She had been to horse riding camps before this so she had no real high expectations but certainly was willing to give this place a try, if it meant giving her a chance to ride horses again. Well she absolutely fell in love with everything about Road's End Farm from all the horses with their variety of colorful personalities, to the mouth-watering food, the experienced, fun-loving, responsible, creative counselors and of course the great balance of work, fun-filled activities, and down-time she is important for her. She told me, I definitely want to go back there next year! What really sold me was not only her excitement of this place from beginning to end, but the caring, conscientious, and wonderful way Tom Woodman, owner of Road's End Farm and his whole staff greeted me and my daughter when we arrived at there. I would recommend Road's End Farm to any person I know who would want their daughter to experience the full-measure of living and having a fun-time at a horse farm.
This review is long overdue considering I attended the camp somewhere back around 2004-2006. This camp was like heaven to a girl who loves horses. To this day I still tell people all about it and recommend it to my friends with kids. Unfortunately I didn't find the camp until I was getting to the end of the age range so I wish I had had more years to enjoy it. Tom is a wonderful person who truly cares about each and every camper and their families. I still look back at my disposable camera photos and smile. This camp is safe, fun, and just an all around experience that your child won't forget.
roads end farm is truly heaven on earth. if you’re a parent considering on sending your child, i encourage you to please do. roads end gifted me with my happiest 3 summers yet and life long best friends. the staff are always the sweetest, and i guarantee any camper will beg to go back. roads end, i love you so much. thank you for everything.
I went here last summer for the summer horsemanship camp. It taught me a lot of things. I wish I could have stayed the whole summer. It was the best summer I've ever had. I wish everybody was as nice as the staff. The horses were some of the best horses I've ever ridden. If your looking for a great horse camp, you should go to Ross's End Farm.
This has been the best choice we have ever made for our daughter. She is now 15 we just dropped her off for her 5th year at Road's End Farm. She met up with her extended family of friends, counsolers, staff and horses for another two weeks and we have no doubt that we left her in her "happy place". This is heaven on earth for non competitive horse loving girls who are seeking a down to earth rustic camp experience, lasting bonds, life lessons, confidence and tremendous growth.
There’s no better camp than this. A truly special place for any girl who’s lucky enough to go here. Beautiful property, great horses, teaching true horsemanship and life skills, and a so much fun to be had.
