We raise grass-fed beef, lamb and now pork that goes from our ranch to your table.
We have now grown into a family of ranches that insist on raising our animals on grass, in a sustainable way that is friendly to the wildlife we share our land with. The Carr Creek cattle company raises cattle on a ranch northwest of DeBeque. The cattle graze in the high country through the summer and spend the winter in the warmer climes of Olathe. The cattle are never given hormones or antibiotics. The Dykstra ranch is in Silt. Stuart runs the cattle up towards Rifle Gap in the summer and in Peach Valley in the winter. His cattle are mostly Galloway crosses that seem to do very well in this environment. Stuart does not give hormones or antibiotics. The Rosenbaums have been raising pork since 1979. They allow the pigs to stay in the family groups playing in wood chips and corn stalk bales. Again there are no hormones or antibiotics given. Roan Creek Ranch raises a few cattle, sheep and chickens. Our family has grown to include a milk cow named Café and a guardian dog named Sitka. Sitka works nights keeping the coyotes away from the sheep and chickens.
