Teen Court is an alternative to the traditional juvenile justice system which allows first-time offenders to be sanctioned by a peer jury. Teen Court engages youth in the community through service learning and pro-social workshops. Participating youth benefit, in part, because the first time offense is not documented on their record.
NC-ACE seeks to reduce youth violence in Robeson County, North Carolina, by promoting feelings of self-esteem, motivation for self improvement, and the development of a healthy attitude towards authorities.
This program is nationally recognized, and is a great opportunity for individuals interesteed in criminal justice, sociology, and law. To learn more about how to get involved please contact our volunteer coordinator Brittany Soles at [email protected]
