The Robinson Township Police K9 Unit was started in February of 2013 with the purchase of K9 "Sarik" from Shallow Creek Kennels in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. K9 Sarik was trained as a dual purpose K9 at the Pittsburgh Bureau Police K9 Academy at no cost to the Township of Robinson. The cost of outfitting a patrol vehicle to accommodate a K9 was covered entirely by grants and donations.
