Renee Thomas is an unethical salesperson. I specifically wanted to sign up for a virtual business address so that I can create a google business profile using Regus' business address. She then said that Regus has no control of google acceptance or denial of claiming a google business profile. I decided that I should create a google business profile first before I commit a contract. She then deceitfully persuaded me to purchase a month to month contract and less than a day later I ask for a refund and they deny it. Then they charge my card for another month three days later after I said I wanted to cancel the contract. This is not an ethical company.
Good: Friendly/helpful staff. Free coffee. Immaculate surroundings. Very professional atmosphere. Nice view out the windows. A great place to meet out-of-town clients. Bad: We signed up for the $169/month unlimited campus plan. But we found that we didn't like paying for parking and didn't like having to be out by 5pm that's just not us. Also we wanted a "home," and with the campus plan you can't leave stuff at the office. Then when we went to cancel we discovered that cancellation may only occur after 90 days and with a 90-day-notice. So though we thought we were going month-to-month, we actually signed an agreement for a minimum of six months. So my recommendation is that if it fits your work style, go for it - just read your agreement carefully duh!.
Terrible experience with this company. They clearly do not care about their clients. The entire operation is mismanaged and unorganized. Krista, the receptionist who answers the phone couldn't be more abrasive, rude and unhelpful. Customer service is non-existent.
Update 6/9/2020: Tried to ask for COVID relief and they offered to take off 50% for the months of April and May but extended my agreement for 3 months. Also re-entered my agreement for the co-working space after I had elected to terminate the agreement 2 months prior to COVID. At the end they will continue to screw their clients and not provide any type of support. I was forced into an agreement I didn't want. Although the atmosphere is professional, clients are mistreated and they only care about their bottomline. They don’t accommodate your needs and when a bigger client comes into the space that supersedes your needs. There’s no flexibility as they say and they are very misleading. You nickel and dime you and charge for everything that should be included in your agreement which is actually considered a license which gives them more power over your space. You have no rights or protections even with the agreement in place.
I've rented office and storefront space in downtown Rochester since 1982. I made the biggest mistake of my life by leasing space from Regus is 2015. It's been a nightmare! Hidden charges, kitchen fees, even a fee if you need an extra chair! The monthly cost of a very small office is outrageous and my rent went up approximately 50% in 2 years! The service is poor and they've had several management changes. There are much better options in downtown Rochester!
Nice office space, but the contracts have many hidden catches that are not brought to your attention when signing up. If you work remotely for a large company and are used to a corporate environment, this might be right for you. If you would rather work with a startup company culture, or are actually working to build a startup, the nickle and dime-ing the place does to tenants would probably not make it a good choice. Ask a LOT of specific questions before signing anything.
I have been a client here at the downtown Rochester, NY center since July 2015 & I could not ask for a more favorable experience. The administrators here, Mike & Wendy, provide top of the line service to ensure that your business needs are met, while also maintaining a family like atmosphere. I recommend this to all that would like to progress in the business world with a piece of mind!
Filled out the "I'd like pricing" form on their website, then changed my mind after reading these reviews. I responded to their email saying I was no longer interested. I then received no fewer than six phone calls in two days all without a voicemail so I could call them back. Maddening, especially since I told them I was no longer interested. I finally answered the last call and was treated very rudely by a customer service rep who told me snottily if I didn't want harassing phone calls I should have answered my phone. Hard sell, obnoxious attitude, and a company that allows their employees to talk to people that way. Run away.
I was charged excessive late fees even though I thought that I paid on time. Then I was threatened with collections on the late fees after I canceled the service. Update: Three months after I cancelled, they are still billing me. I strongly suggest to stay about from these fraudsters.
