There's the saying "necessity is the mother of invention." This certainly rings true for Rock-a-Thigh Baby, which was created by a Wisconsin mom of four daughters. It all began on a chilly spring evening in 2007, when Jennifer went for a walk while wearing her daughter in a baby carrier. Her little girl's legs got cold due to her pant legs being hiked up in the carrier, so Jen went home to dress her warmer. Not wanting to hassle with taking off all the layers of clothing her girl was wearing, Jen quickly snipped the legs off of some yarn tights and used rubber bands to keep the makeshift "socks" up.
Jen's "ah-ha moment" happened later that night while searching online for baby thigh-highs. Much to her surprise and frustration, she couldn't find any. She also thought about how much time she'd waste searching for little socks that were missing in action, and knew that a well designed thigh-length sock would solve that problem too! After two years of researching cuff designs, securing funds for her start-up, working on sock designs, and finding a US manufacturer, Jen launched Rock-a-Thigh Baby on January 1, 2010.
Six years later, due to ongoing manufacturing issues, Jen made the difficult, but necessary decision to move production overseas. After basically starting her business over from scratch with new socks, new grips, new sizing, new packaging, new website, and a new logo, the newly re-branded Rock-a-Thigh Baby was launched in January 2017.
