My son goes to Pre-K here and I absolutely love them and so does he! He is blind and they work so well with him with accommodations and making sure he learns what his peers learn! I truly feel like he’s safe and I know for a fact that he’s learning!
This is my daughter's second year at this school. The teachers my daughter has had here have been great. However, there have been a couple of encounters my husband and I have had with the SRO that are really upsetting. When we don't make it to the kindergarten drop off on time in the mornings, we have to drop our daughter off in the front of the school before the tardy bell rings. We always park and walk her to the main door, always. The teachers at the drop off and even the principal have seen us do this plenty of time and there hasn't been an issue. The ONE day the SRO is the only one out there by 7:40 a.m. he stops me out of all the parents walking their kids up to the main door to tell me "you need to stay in the line and not park because you are holding up the line when you walk your kid to the door" and told me "unless you have a project to take in, you don't need to park." Mind you, there were other parents who were walking their kids to the door and only one of them had a project in hand. I guess by now I should add that I was the only parent who wasn't white who was doing this at that particular time. The discrimination is so obvious when it comes to this SRO. I don't know if it's because I am Mexican, because of my tattoos/piercings or because of the way I was dressed, but for some reason out of ALL the parents who do this everyday, I am the only one who gets told not to do it as other parents walk by back to their cars and he doesn't say a single word to anyone else. There was also an incident when the SRO was holding the door open for the kids to walk inside. He sees our daughter coming and just walks off and lets the door close before she can get in. My husband did notice all the other kids were white and my daughter was the only one who was Hispanic/Asian. Let me just add, those doors are too heavy for a 5 year old to open on their own, which is another reason why we walk our daughter to the main door. It may possible just be a coincidence, but I'm sorry I just can't help but feel he is discriminating us because we are younger parents, have tattoos and because we are people of color.
Great location, just don't be near here around 2 to 3,school let's out at this location.
Only 3 stars because they banned crab apple throwing wars and football.
