Rockford Eye and Laser Center is a wonderful place …. from the first time I walked in, to the end of my treatment .. every person was skilled, welcoming, caring, and professional! Dr. Yoon is an excellent surgeon and performed my cataract surgery without a problem. I am able to see amazingly well, without glasses or contacts! Thank you all!!
Set up appointment months ago. I was 5 minutes from their office when they called me. I missed the call and showed up at their office only to find out the had a "scheduling" problem. This was after driving 38 miles one way. They did offer an appointment at 10:30 AM but I had another appointment scheduled for 10:00AM. Terrible customer service. Left and I am going elsewhere.
I would give zero stars if I could. Setup appt online leaving detailed message. Arrived early, had exam by tech/dilation and escorted to waiting room for few minutes. Called back to see K. Patel O.D. who shone bright light in eye requesting to look up, over here, to left, to right. I laughed stating a lot of direction for eye. She excused herself from room for a few minutes. Gave numbers to tech who asked to repeat which she did with annoyed tone. Told me my Dx which I already knew and had written in online message. She then told me to make appt. On my arrival to front desk, receptionist walked in back asking me to wait. Upon her return, I was informed they couldn't make an appt. Days later received letter from office manager stating they were dismissing from care as I was difficult. LOL ! Thank God.
Waited several months for an appointment. I was seen, then told it would be a another couple months before my next appointment for the procedure. I was in need with a large and growing chalazion on my eyelid obstructing my vision. It swelled further and I phoned asking if we could expedite the procedure. They brushed me off and I told them I'd be looking elsewhere. I had the procedure performed in the next few days by an office who cared about my timely need. The procedure only took a half hour. Lazy office unable to prioritize someone in need vs a profitable procedure with no necessary expedition like lasiks. Recap: made me wait 2 months for initial appointment and were happy to take my money, wanted me to wait another couple for a half hour procedure. I had a referral, they should've been prepared to do the rudimentary procedure on the spot without consultation like the other office did. Profit before care
Dr Yoon performed cataract surgery on both of my parents. He is superb, professional and such a top notch physician. They both had outstanding results, thank you Dr Yoon for taking excellent care of them both.
Not sure where their system is broken. Reception? Tried reaching them for two weeks and no one returned my calls. Asking for referrals with Blue Cross Blue Shield? No referral- can’t use their services. Period. That’s what I was told. Fine! The UGRENT referral was sent and they can’t find it! Great job, guys.
People there were ok but how practice handled poor! Made me pay copay cuz they didn't bother checking my ins that treatment was covered. Didn't listen or read what my previous doc had said. Did test and didn't show me results previous doc always went over picture right away, 3 calls to doc & never got anybody with any med degree - MA discussing my condition without telling me her credentials , then receptionist telling what test results mean and then office mgr telling my how and what order tests are done! Won't go back - BTW, medical chair was old cracked vinyl and other equipment looked old- making all that $$ and no updated equipment.
WE had appts with Dr Patel and when it's time, I will certainly return there for my cataract surgery. Everyone was friendly and polite and went above and beyond for us both. Even though she is out of network of my glasses vision insurance we are both returning for a glasses exam as she's very good at her job,as was all the staff,we felt very comfortable there,and after a phone call to my vision ins plan,it appears she is saving us quite a bit on the eye exam. We are very happy with the practice. Wish we could get our glasses there! But we will check on that too,further
Rockford Eye and Laser is highly recommended! Dr Yoon knew that I was really scared about my cataract surgery, and he was caring and calming during the procedure--so much so that I had the second eye done a few weeks later rather than wait. Dr Patel, whom I've seen for follow up exams, is wonderful. I hope to keep her as my regular optometrist in the future. The entire staff at the Center has been great, very professional and accommodating. Also, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a scheduled appointment! Once again, highly recommended!
Dr Yoon and his staff are kind, wonderful professionals to work with. Dr Yoon was very careful to tailor a treatment specific to my needs and, in fact, steered me away from a more expensive lens implant because he was concerned that it was not the best for my eyes. The results from my cataract surgery are nothing short of amazing!
