The Rockford University philosophy department consists of the following faculty members:

The philosophy program at Rockford College affords students a rich background in the history of major thinkers, ethics, logic, and topically specific areas such as American philosophy, philosophy of human nature, and philosophy of art. In addition, we offer regular "special topics" courses which in recent years has included existentialism, philosophy of liberty, and an advanced logic course.
The department faculty at Rockford College have accomplished teaching and scholarly backgrounds.
Dr. Hicks has published widely, including two books in the area of intellectual history, one of which, *Explaining Postmodernism* has undergone numerous reprints and has enjoyed wide readership and review. Hicks also has published numerous articles in scholarly journals in areas ranging from art, business and economic ethics, education, objectivism, and the thinking of Ayn Rand. As director for the Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship, he has interviewed many prominent entrepreneurs (http://www.ethicsandentrepreneurship.org/).
Dr. Flamm has co-edited and co-authored three anthologies, two on American philosophers George Santayana and John Dewey, and a third exploring the engagement of American and European thought. In addition he has published several articles in scholarly journals on the thinking of George Santayana and John Dewey. Finally he has two essays in the popular culture and philosophy series by Open Court (each co-authored with his spouse Jennifer A. Rea, Ph.D., one in *Jimmy Buffett and Philosophy* and the other in *The Wizard of Oz and Philosophy*).
