Great breakfast. Had the skillet. Bacon was nice & crunchy just how I like it. The meal was bountiful. B&Gs were Ok but better than other white gravy B&Gs I've had. My husband makes his gravy from the sausage so it's hard to beat.
Not the prettiest Roadside Diner I've been to but I'm sure glad I stopped in. the rain was coming down and needed a moment the belly was grumbling so The Rocking Chair restaurant seem to be right up my alley. not too far off the expressway and easy to get to, so you walk in you seat yourself and the lady gets right to business drinks on the table odds and ends. when you look at the menu remember you're not at IHOP or Denny's real simple not too complicated so order up they've got all the regular stuff eggs and bacon sausage and Ham the way you want it pancakes and that stuff I got the skillet. the potatoes were great and the b&gs well let's just say I've had worse and that's not to say they're bad I'm just particular when it comes to my gravy. lots of other stuff on that menu when it comes to dinner time they have Buffet on certain days and it's not a cramped place it's actually pretty large. lots of seating making sure the locals and travelers are comfortable and taken care of. there's an awesome sweet tea they have I'd suggest that for a cool drink not too sweet in my opinion and when the check comes it didn't hurt too bad again I'm traveling we're calling it a vacation and it was definitely an experience so if you're traveling and you come across this sweet little place take time rocking the oversized rocking chair head inside and order up. Parking: No Stripes here just plenty of gravel find a spot and park it Kid-friendliness: Did you have kids menu claw game in the entry always keeps them amused and the adults dishing out dough
We drove an hour and a half because we heard the buffet was large and very good. Not the case, small buffet, with some weird breakfast items, biscuits are very heavy and dense, out of gravy. Really the only thing the 3 of us liked was the sausage and bacon. We could have stayed in our town, got the same food we ate, it would have tasted better and would have been cheaper and less gas. Would not recommend.
My girlfriend and I had pork tenderloin dinner and chicken fried steak dinner. They came with choices of sides and we both got mashed potatoes and gravy salad and a roll. The food was very good and we actually caught them at a slow time, which I understand they don't have much slow times. They stay quite busy from what I understand. The food was great the service was great! If I get out that way again I will definitely be going there again. It was also highly recommended by my mother and father and aunt and uncle.
Food was very good. My wife, children and I were very pleased. Prices are very good, you're not overpaying for what you get. The cinnamon rolls from here are amazing. If you're getting breakfast you have to get one, be warned they are huge. I will be returning for Sunday breakfast buffet for certain. Parking: There is more than enough parking here. Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs or steps. Nice level place.
Great Service, great food! Best breakfast and best fried chicken around!Food: 5/5
Everytime me and my family goes to Conway we always stop here for some good food. The wait staff are very friendly and always has a smile. When a whole lot of my family gathered there for lunch when we buried my Mom out at Reed's cemetery. They took care of us 125%. Love the place.Food: 5/5
Great little resturant right off 44 in MO. Exit 113. My husband's parents always go here on trips to see us. Told us we had to stop. Now, our own tradition. Great breakfast buffet with lots of options. The bacon is awesome! They do not skimp on quality. Was around 945 on a Sunday. Got right in. Started to get a little busy as we were eating. Their cinnamon roll is the size of my face! Haven't had one, but look amazing. Will ha e to try one sometime.
I started by hearing and expecting great things from this restaurant. The main waitress started off okay but after asking for a few extra items seemed put off for the rest of service. There was another woman who brought out our food she was very nice, making sure we had everything. She is the only reason for three stars. The food was awful. After waiting for too long, my food arrived cold. Others from my table received perfectly hot and warm plates but my was cold. After getting my plate fixed the first bite was just bland. The only thing that brought any flavor to the plate was the brown gravy the drowned the entire plate. The entire table was missing rolls, we were promised that some where coming but they never did, my plate remained half eaten possibly never to return. I hoped for more from the home town diner but leave hungry and honestly sad.
Food was excellent and the portions were big. The cinnamon roll was HUGE and very delicious. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, reminded me of the diner in my hometown growing up. Kids were amazed by the size of the rocking chair on the porch.Food: 5/5
