Our family has been to Rocking Horse twice now, and really enjoyed it both times. There is always something to do and the staff are wonderful! I really couldn't praise them enough. They always made my kids feel special and found ways to make them smile or take something "okay" to "awesome". And really, it's the staff that makes the difference to that. The pools are nice, the games are fun, but horses are the best, as it should be! But then, afterwards, singing country songs around a large camp fire, roasting marshmallows...how can you go wrong? We will be back again.
We just visited this past weekend and had a wonderful time! The weather was not great, and it didn’t stop us there was still plenty to do. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, the amount of activities, and the delicious food! It is definitely expensive, but I did not feel bad about spending the money because it’s worth it. You literally don’t have to leave they have everything you could need here. We rebooked our trip for next year and my daughters who are 3 and 6 keep saying how much the miss rocking horse ranch and want to go back!
What an incredible experience our family of 5 had over the holiday weekend. We wanted to go to a place where we could ride horses and have enough other "stuff" to keep the kids busy. Needless to say RHR did not disappoint. Over 72 hours with no technology involved our kids were never bored and were busy from 8am - 9pm each day. The service were incredible across the board and the 3 meals provided each day was top notch. We can't recommend this place enough and wouldn't hesitate to return for another visit!
We absolutely loved this place. For years I've had my eye on RHR but never pulled the trigger because of the price but it's worth every penny and we already booked for next summer. There is just something so unique and different about this place. It offered so many fun things for the kids to experience that they never would have at a beach type of vacation. The service was top notch. Everyone was so friendly and goes above and beyond. The hotel is immaculate and clean and it's obvious they take pride in the property. The horses are well cared for. The food is even fantastic which is the reason I think people keep coming back. If the food were not good, I would not return but having great food makes the money worth the price. This was a vacation my kids will never forget. We can't wait to return.
I wanted to take the time to highlight 3 employees at Rocking Horse Ranch that made my stay absolutely wonderful: Lauren, Cooper, and Thea. Lauren basically became a part of our family on this trip, as we participated in most events that she hosted, such as karaoke, bingo, and kickball. She had such enthusiasm and a wonderful personality, and made each event so enjoyable to take part in for each of my family members. Cooper and Thea ran the Banana Boat rides and those were some of the highlights of the trip for myself and my cousins. They were both very conversational and made sure we were all safe while having a blast on our rides. They elevated our trip and we stayed on the boat for hours because of them. If you are planning on coming to Rocking Horse Ranch, make sure you spend time with these employees, they won’t let you down!
We love RHR, it is out 5th time there and we plan to make it an annual tradition. It is such a wonderful family resort. The food is delicious and the activities are fun for all. Our family always has so much fun there. John and Frankie at bungee jumping really know how to run it efficiently, they did a great job. Horseback riding, boating, laser tag, and bingo were all a hit. Can't wait to be back next year, thank you for the memories!
We had a fantastic stay at the Rocking Horse Ranch Resort in New York. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they went out of their way to make sure that we had a wonderful time. The resort has something for everyone, from indoor and outdoor sports activities to a spa and a water park. My kids especially loved the water park, and they spent hours playing in the slides and pools. We also enjoyed the many family-friendly activities that the resort offers, such as hayrides, campfires, and s'mores. Overall, we had a blessed time at the Rocking Horse Ranch Resort, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing family vacation.
We stayed here 4 nights with my parents, my family, and my sister and her family. A great time was had by all. I don't have anything negative to say about the experience. The key message is if you like resorts, cruises, etc. where you don't need to worry about anything and you have small to early teen kids, this is the place for you. If you are the type to travel to foreign countries, rent a car, take local transport and go to local establishments, you can still have a good time here but it's not going to be your dream vacation. Food: Good but not amazing. Seasoning is middle of the road. They will do whatever is needed to accommodate dietary concerns. You can BYOB. Their process to order drinks at meals is cumbersome at best and prices are high. Service: Def focused on the guest. No complaints. Wait staff will get you whatever you request within reason. Rooms: Not bad but not great. You are paying for experience and activities, not luxury. Activities: Very good. Something for everyone.
Best for families with grade school and middle school aged children. With that said, there is something to do for everyone. Minus one star because: 1. the hot springs pool was chaotic with children no parent was following the posted rules and no staff were enforcing the rules there. 2. The campfire was unsafe. There was only one employee doing his best when there should be at least two. Children were flinging flaming marshmallows and their parents were doing the same. The resort should explain safety rules before handing out skewers/marshmallows. 3. The food was absolutely amazing one day and ok/good the next. I was told by a staff member that this is how you can tell whether Chef Paul is working or not.
Awesome family vacation spot for all ages. We enjoyed everything they had to offer, and the resort is very well taken care of. The only suggestion to provide is to update the mattresses and pillows at least our room. The other suggestion is a hottub area for adults. The Mineral Springs tub was nice but packed full of disrespectful kids without their parents around and is the only pool area without a lifeguard on duty. Just little things and honestly was overall amazing!
