My husband and I took an acrylic pen turning class this past Saturday morning at Rockler Woodworking in Kennesaw with Kaptain Kirk. It was an amazing time, and we learned a lot. We drilled the hole in the pen blank using the lathe, which is a different approach than how my first two pens were done, so that was cool. He is an incredible teacher with a super personality. I highly recommend his classes if you have any interest at all.
Took my second class with Kaptaun Kirk. This time learning how to turn bowls. As always he was extremely helpful in teaching me how to make a bowl safely. I’m excited to go try one on my own
I took a segmented bowl turning class this weekend with Kirk. Turned out great. He's sarcastic, but fun and made the experience interesting. All the workers are helpful and enjoy sharing info and projects. Pretty cool!
1st time woodworking and 1st time working on a lathe also, Capt. Kirk is so the man!! He has my vote for sexiest man alive!!!! Showed me how to glue up and turn a bowl.He made is easy and he is a ton of fun. I look forward to taking more classes.
Kaptain Kirk, at this location is an excellent instructor that has inspired my 13 year old to go further in wood working! He made these for his school craft fair and SOLD OUT in 3 hours! Thanks Kirk and Rockler of Kennesaw!!! He will take more classes at Rockler over the summer break ! This is a life skill that every boy/ young man should learn!
Kaptain Kirk is an awesome Woodturning instructor!! I had never turned wood before and his class gave me the confidence and desire to pursue the craft and add it to my woodworking arsenal. Thank you Kirk! You are indeed invaluable! Thank you Jim for staying late for the class!
Soo many great woodworking tools and supplies to choose from! We found this newer store yesterday and were lucky to find sales discounts on nearly everything purchased! There are conveniently located just off of the Interstate at Barrett Parkway! Convenient to I 75 and I 575. This shopping center has many more places to choose from for additional shopping...even has a sushi restaurant! The wood here is beautiful and the selection is great! Worth a trip!
Took my 1st bowl turning with traditional tools with Kirk. It was a wonderful experience. He was very helpful and really wanted you to learn and understand what you were doing. I will definitely be taking more classes. If you want to learn see Kirk.
My 15yo took a pen turning class at the Kennesaw location. Excellent instructor!! He loved the class and is now turning pens at home on his own lathe. Always great service and friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Thanks guys!
I had a GREAT time today taking a class at Rockler Woodworking from Sam. I made a cheese board. I was introduced to and used 5 new pieces of equipment, in addition to using several tools that I was already familiar with. Sam was very patient with my questions, and was very knowledgeable in all aspects of woodworking. I look forward to taking another class.
