RCNS was founded in 1964. We are cooperative, parent-owned, non-sectarian preschool offering a play-based morning program to children ages 2-4.
Rockville Community Nursery School (RCNS) is a cooperative, parent-owned, non-sectarian school that offers a variety of morning classes for 2-, 3-, and 4-year-old children. An optional lunch program from 12:30pm-2pm is available several days a week for children enrolled in our 3- and 4-year-old classes. We offer a developmentally appropriate program in which children are encouraged to experiment, have fun, and develop problem-solving abilities.
As a cooperative school, our parents play a vital role – we run the school by serving in administrative positions, assisting the teachers in daily classroom activities, and helping with fundraising activities. Our director and teachers are there to help guide us every step along the way. On a rotating basis, a parent participates alongside the teacher in each classroom, providing the parental support that is vital to a truly successful educational experience.
Our small class sizes ensure each child receives the individual nurturing and guidance needed to develop to his or her full potential. Perhaps best of all, RCNS provides a truly family-centered environment and a strong community for kids and parents alike.
We are conveniently located off of I-270 at Exit 6, and just a few blocks from Rockville Town Center, at 100 Welsh Park Drive, Rockville, MD 20850. Please check out our website at www.rcnscoop.org for more information on class offerings, tuition, and additional details or contact RCNS at 301-340-7584 or [email protected].
RCNS is a non-profit institution. RCNS does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, or national origin.
