Description

The moment you step into Rockwoods Grill & Bar’s spacious lobby, you know you have found something special. Whether it’s the sight of whole chickens turning on the rotisserie, flames from the sauté chef or pizzas in the wood burning oven, something tells you this is going to be good.

On January 1st, 2016, Rockwoods Bar & Grill was purchased by four men that also happen to own Lord Fletcher's on Lake Minnetonka. Two of them live in the area in Otsego and St Michael. We are proud to be locally owned and operated!

All of our bread comes from a small bakery in down town Elk River called Diamond City Bread.

Stopped in around 5 pm and seated right away. At the time only one table was busy. However, in the 60 plus minutes we were there almost the entire dining area filled up. Was quite amazing to see how steady and quickly customers came in. We each had a small side salad which was definitely not small. The salad was very fresh and contained cucumbers, onions, peppers, lettuce and spinach. Salad dressing was also very tasty. For my entree went with the half BBQ smoked chicken. Was laid out very nicely on the plate and was delicious. Tender on the inside and had a slightly but not overpowering smoky taste. Provided us with different bottles of BBQ sauce from mild to very hot. Tried the medium strength sauce and it was very complimentary to the chicken. For my sides had the cucumber salad plus the Mac and cheese. Cucumber salad had a nice "kick" to it while the Mac and cheese was a perfect offset to the cucumber salad. In addition to our soft drinks they brought some fresh and warm french bread with butter. Way too much food but bread was boxed up and taken home. Only thing that kept this from a perfect score was my girlfriend thought her burger was a bit dry and lacked flavor. Maybe it was because she held the bacon from the burger which may have cut down on the taste. Great service from our main waitress, Snow and her peers. All were active in clearing our tables and very pleasant. First trip to Rockwoods in four years and was a nice experience. Hope to be back sooner than the last trip!
Ate brunch here for my 60th birthday and the avocado toast with smash browns was Devine!! Then we had to have cinnamon roll bread pudding for dessert, with cinnamon ice cream!! Oooh so good! Our server was so attentive and pleasant to deal with!! A favorite place to revisit often!Food: 5/5
Upscale Restaurant with a great "Sports Bar" feel. I have been patronizing this establishment on a near nightly basis as of late. I am staying at the Hotel adjacent to this property for a work project, and have been eating here about 5 days a week! The pictures included in the review are an extensive view of available menu items. The service here has been above reproach! We have dined here as a party of 4 to 9 guests nightly, and the service has been exceptional! The servers have been friendly and upbeat on every occasion. Amelia, Katie and Amber receiving mention in particular, as standouts for going out of their way to enhance the experience here. The Menu is a great mix of entree and appetizers to allow portions size for most Diners. Plating of the meals here deserves a mention as well. Attractive presentation has been the norm. This restaurant gets very busy at times, but appears to be adequately staffed, wait times have not been excessive. Please browse the attached gallery of pictures. Had a amazing late birthday dinner here. The bread pudding alone is something to go there for. Plus it only $10Food: 5/5
The only reason for the two stars was the service, which is a shame because the food was phenomenal. My friend and I felt really rushed after sitting in the back dining room around 7:45, after waiting for a bit for a host to seat us. We wanted to put our app in & relax and were put in the position to order our main entrees due to the pace of the server. Not a big deal, as I was server for many years... until there wasn’t much conversation or personality from the server and then we were rushed through dessert and our entire stay. We were the last party sitting in the room by the end of dinner, and I felt like our server was going outside to either smoke or rush her side work. As we were leaving, she was chatting up with a co-worker in the bar and didn’t notice us leaving. We weren’t thanked or exchanged goodbyes by any employees. So, what was the rush? Honestly a big question mark for this place- I’m kinda sad that this was our experience.
Great venue for your wedding or special event! Julie is one of the nicest most helpful people to be around. I met her at the Rogers Wedding Expo. She makes sure that everything runs smoothly and is fun to spend time with while she's doing it. Her colleague who I didn't catch name was very helpful as well. The venue is remarkable and the food is even better. 10/10 recommend.
Haven’t been to Rockwoods in years but we were passing by on a Sunday night and decided to stop in with our kiddos. Best decision ever! They had live music on the patio and although we sat inside in the bar area they had the door open so we were still able to enjoy the music which was awesome! As we browsed the menu we see it’s 1/2 price kids meals bonus! and to top is off they had an amazing magician walking around doing close up magic! This absolutely made my kids night and I don’t think they will ever stop talking about it! To wrap it up the drinks, food, and service were amazing! We will be back and hope you take your kids here in a Sunday night! Best restaurant experience we’ve had in a very long time! Good job Rockwoods and thank you! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was so good I got the mahi mahi street tacos with the mango salsa and a bloody Mary or two. They were so good I had to share.Food: 5/5
Awesome food. Between the 4 of use, we had wings, brisket, Cajun pork chop, steak and 3 cheese Mac and all were cooked to perfection. 2 of us had old fashioned cocktails and they too were very good. We shared the caramel roll bread pudding and our group gave it 4 thumbs up. Put them on your bucket list as you will not be disappointed.Food: 5/5
