The food here is delicious. The chicken is amazing. The rice is flavorful. It comes out hot and the presentation is nice. Their dishes are well made and tasty. It's a little pricey. I got the lunch special see photos and the price was good. Glad to have peruvian food near by for sure! Where they lose a star with me is the customer service. They seem to always have ONE server for the entire restaurant. Not super friendly and makes you feel like your bothering them by ordering or not ordering fast enough. Lol. The food is delicious and I know in advance that's how it is, so I keep coming back. Hope this was helpful.
The server did a great job despite being the only waitress with a restaurant full of more than 50 people. She was serving, busing tables, cleaning floors, and was quick to bring our food. She deserves a big tip. The passion fruit pitcher was very well priced. The restaurant was very understaffed. The lomo saltado and Yuka and cow heart were good. The ceviche was VERY watered down, almost no taste of lime.
If you want a truly auténtico peruvian experience El Rocoto Peruvian Restuarant is the place to go! You can order ahead for takeout or walk in and enjoy the beautiful peruvian style decore making you feel like your really visiting Perú! The staff primarily speak Spanish so at the very least you need to know how to pronounce the dish you want to get. We got our favorite family meal Un Enteró Pollo a la braza. This comes with a whole chicken and a large amount of fríes! They also include a salad with tomatos lettuce and cucumber. They also include 3 dipping sauces consisting of fresh mixed mayonase, rocoto sauce green and spicy and the namesake of the restaurant , and ají sauce made with yellow ají sauce that carries a later heat then the rocoto sauce. Together they make a perfect combo with the rotiserie chicken they call pollo a la braza. They marinade it so it carriles flavor all the way to the bone! Don't forget to pick up a bottle of Peru's own Inca Cola! It's a coke product that trastes kinda like bubble gum and feels like drinking gold! Features: Very large seating area so social distancing is easy.
Worst experience ever. Ceviche taste like fish and water. Pollo a la brasa was good same as lomo saltado but service was awful, we got there at 7:15 and by the time I was half way with my food the server started bringing boxes for our food and taking the condiments off the table. She said they close at 8:30 and we have to go. So we have to put everything in boxes and go home. We drive all the way from PC for these kind of service definitely not bringing friends here ever. I understand is a family restaurant but come on she is not doing good to the establishment. There were 2 tables in the restaurant and we all look at each out and just leave. While were leaving the server walked in front of us and left before us. We all just laugh.
I wish I could give this a 0 star. The Jalea should feed 3 to 4 people and as you can see in the photo it won’t feed one. The yucca Frita is an extra side dish for 7 dollars that should of got more than 8 small pieces. The leche de Tigre was the worst I have tasted throughout the u.s. I have been to Peruvian restaurants in 6 different states and this was by far the worst and it also has the smallest portions. Spent over 60 dollars and it did not even feed 2 people. I been to their west valley location several times and it’s miles better than this location.
Great food! Get the Anticuchos and lomo saltado. The mixed seafood plate is great as well. For dessert try an alfajor.
Pollo a la brasa was SO GOOD. The outside marinade was full of flavor, but I can’t recommend the French fries... very large and in-charge, but our batch was slightly undercooked. Still the best Peruvian we’ve had in Utah!
Called ahead for full Pollo a la brasa which wasn't available when we got there. The restaurant had no music, the ladies working there gave us the feeling they didn't want us there and were super unfriendly. Also half the restaurant was blocked off like during covid times which just shows they just don't want to work. Overall worst experience at a restaurant and would recommend this place to no one.
The papa a la huancaina is an imitation. The waitress never cleaned the table where she served us the food. She was not busy but she was very distracted or maybe since we look Latino she did not want to clean the table. She never came back to ask us if we wanted anything else. The chicha morada pleased my son. The owner should put more emphasis on the taste of the food and send his waitresses to a customer service course.
Fast polite service, food came out at a reasonable time. The food was very good. I wish they made chicha in house, but no complaints.Food: 5/5
