"ROCK COOKING - Our volcanic rocks are kept in specialized ovens for hours, resulting in exceptionally hot rocks that denaturize the proteins of the meat. This along with marinades, fat content, and brining is what gives the meat its unique flavors and makes it safe to eat. No butter. Food 4* Vibe 5* Service 5* Vibe is great. Must come with a group of friends or with a date to enjoy the experience. Service is great as well. Our server was a funny guy and also kept checking up on us and making sure we're ready for the fondue experience. As for the food. The steaks are tastier cooked on the stone plate rather than the fondue. Their steak sauces were delicious. Overall a great time.
Great spot on State Street. We showed up about 20 minutes early for a reservation, place wasn't super crowded but still had to wait likely short staffed - but the area is nice to walk around so the 20 minutes passed easily. Lots of drink options and are they were great. We ordered a cheese fondue and by the time we were finishing that our Fondue Feast came out. The timing between food dishes was great so we didn't get "full on the appetizers" and able to finish our dinner. The feast fed 2 of us perfectly. Recommendations: 1. Get a cheese fondue AND a fondue entree rock entrees looked good too 2. Get the fries instead of the pretzel with your cheese fondue extra charge 3. Ask to be seated upstairs cool vibe 4. Save room for dessert looked delicious but we were full
My family and I came here for a quick bite. This place is more of sit down and enjoy your meal spot, but we where on a time crunch. Regardless the service here is excellent, the waiters know their menu. Our waiter helped us choose our appetizers. The Rok•N•Chedder Fondue, the Ahi Tuna Tartare, and Bruschetta. All tasted very delicious. Although we did not get full entrees, the food looked plus smelled amazing. We are looking forward to coming back for the full sit down experience. 11/2022 update, we had a sit down and eat experience today and we where so pleased. The crab cakes are delightful with the aioli sauce. We had the pesto orzo, and a fondue feast. I must say everything tasted delicious. The experience was great. The dips provided for the feast complimented them well. A teriyaki twist, chimichurri, plus the spicy and sweet sauce.
Great ambiance and food. Steak on a stone was excellent as was the shrimp and scallops. Appetizer was cheese found us with bacon jalapeños. Fun dipping bread, chips and fruit. Noisy and busy areas. We sat upstairs. A bit smoky in some areas but smelled great. Living music was a plus and nice long bar.Recommended dishesSurf and Turf, Stone, Loaded Mash Potatoes
First time here nice ambiance. Service was great. Our table was to small and we were seated next to the kitchen even with a reservation. All in all we will return the food was delicious. The red moon cocktail was awesome and the BlackBerry Mai Tai was great.
We went to Rok N Fondue for my daughter's birthday. We started with the sun-dried formaggio cheese fondue as an appetizer and it was great. We had the fondue feast and surf and turf. Both entrees combined were not very filling but it was good. The downer was the service. Our waitress rarely checked on us. When we would ask for something it took what seemed to be too long for what was asked for. We went during mid week so it wasn't busy. It was our first time eating here. It was fun and something different to do for dinner. If you try it, I hope your service is better than ours was.
Went for my birthday dinner. My daughter choose it and it was perfect. It made my year . Haven't had seen her in 13 years. It was a beautiful reunion. Perfect setting...we talked laughed and grubbed . Was a beautiful night I'll never forget Recommended dishesCheese Fondue
It was an amazing experience. The food was great and fun. The space is a little tight, good for an intimate couple, but the atmosphere is worth it. The location is very is on a very artsy part of town, between "umbrella alley" and Ed Hale park, great place for a milestone date or anniversary. Our server was great but things did take some time, so our patience was appreciated, luckily live music kept us occupied.
Very very slow service, uncomfortable chairs, definitely understaffed. Half of our group was served, ate, finished, then we waited another 20 minutes for the other half to even get their food. Took almost 3 hours for a party of 5 and it wasn’t busy at all. Also had a mandatory 20% tip, which was ridiculous given we weren’t going to leave a tip. Total came out to $200+ for a terrible experience. Do not recommend.
I recommend this place for sure because of their different typeof fondue they have and all were really good. Waiters will explain fondue for you and make it on top of small heater on the table with you. the vibe, the music and the girl who singing were great. the cocktail was pretty good as well especially the margarita with sthing it was really nice. we had a reservation and were late for 20 minutes m but waiting to get the table around 45 min! the lamb rack wasnt my favorite but the way they present them on the top of hot rock it was fun. and you can cook it more if you want. it was my friend BD and they give us free champagne. So, overall that was fun and joyful, I recommend it for sure.
