Ron’s paintings convey the love and respect of his southern heritage, and nostalgic themes that often depict a way of life that is slowly disappearing. Ron refers to his style as “rustic realism”. He is constantly drawn to subjects that emphasize texture, or “weathered character”. He believes his artistic challenge with each painting is to create something that connects with the viewer visually and emotionally.
Ron is currently accepting commission requests to paint your homeplace, barn, nostalgic photo, horse portrait, or other cherished subject. Ron can usually work from your photos but may have to take additional photos if warranted. Price is dependent upon size, subject and number of estimated hours to complete the painting.
