I bought a dining room table from the room place in Algonquin. Brittney asked if she could help me. I told her exactly what I was looking for and she took me rite to it. She was very patience with the sale and nice. Even honest enough to go get her manager Joshua to answer what she couldn’t. He as well was very nice, polite and didn’t rush my sale. I will go back to purchase there and ask for Brittney. Thanks for making my purchase with buying from at your store!!
I needed a bedroom set for out of town guests fast. Brittney was amazing! I walked in she was friendly and very helpful. They are delivering the set in 2 days. Was a very easy process. Would definitely work with Brittney again. She is an asset to The Room Place! Richard her manager was also very helpful and knowledgeable. Great team! Thanks again!
Edited to add: I did contact the person who replied to this review at the email they gave, but they never responded. I initially left a good review for the place, but am editing to warn future customers. When my living room set was delivered, it was the wrong version manual vs power recline. I called the office to inform them of the mistake and ask to have the correct set delivered. I was told that my order must have been entered wrong and the set that I had seen on their floor was $400 more than what I paid. I asked the manager to honor the advertised price and send me the set I purchased for the price I was charged and was told no, that if I wanted the set I had seen on their floor the set I thought I was purchasing I would have to pay extra, but they would drop it to $300 extra. Very deceptive
This place is very pretty however the lack of knowledgeable employees really turned this place into a disappointment. I went in looking at kids furniture was in there for about 20 mins before my friend and I even saw an employee. Finally a girl named Brittany came up asking if we'd been greeted yet. To which we said no, she ignored that and rambled on about some 25% sale and said let her know then walked away to return on her cell phone. My friend and I continued around the store stopping to look at mattresses. Brittnay again came up saying we found our testers mattresses to which we said ya. She went on to quickly explain a mattress we didn't even look at had memory form then trailed off. I asked her if they had any cribs. To which she responded "huh" obnoxiously. I repeated my question realizing she must not have an idea of what a crib was. After already being in the children's department for 20 mins, hardly anything at all let alone cribs, she repeated maybe its by the kids stuff. I politely told her no they're not. She preceeded to say I'll go ask walked away and my friend notice she just sat on her phone. 5 mins later she came back saying her manager said they don't carry any sorry and walked away. Not once did we see her again and I was actually curious about the credit card and would've appreciated my questions answered. It's a shame because that store looks so cute but prehaps they need to train their employees better or give some extra training time if they struggle to comprehend things.
The sales manager, Elvira is professional and knowledgeable about every product in the store. She is gracious and answers every question with courtesy. And Daniel and his co-worker are careful and efficient. I couldn’t ask for better. Buy with confidence.
Complete and total nightmare. With the holiday sale coming I'm warning you just stay away!!!!!! sale sounds amazing deals great till the delivery to your household. Multiple pieces missing with dates pushed back every week or in my case the wrong couch sent. There fix to that problem "well we won't charge you for delivery of your new couch" my new couch? You mean the one I purchased and you didn't deliver? Lead manager is a clown offered me 100$ credit for the 4 occasions I had to stop back to his store to check on my incomplete order AND the 4 days with 3 hour time variatof when they would delivery my wronfurniture. But there's more im still being charged for the couch that I didn't order the sales associate accidentally put on my order is still on the sales order. Worst thing about this whole experience is I can't get ahold of anyone i call and just get pushed aside. This clown show is a nightmare. Stay away Edit: after receiving a email and phone call from the room place my review still stands they offered me 100$ and apologized for the inconvenience. Not the lady's fault on the phone they are just too big to care.
I've been shopping with them for 30 years back when they were Harlem Furniture. I just purchased furniture for every room in my house from the Algonquin location, and there's an issue with one item that they are not willing to help me out with. They have incorrect signage on pieces. Richard, one of the managers, and Vera told me to just deal with my mistake. My mistake! Horrible customer service.
Visited this store and found a reclining sofa I liked. Asked the sales rep if it could be configured a particular way..she said yes. When it was delivered, they assembled it the way I wanted it, but one of the seats wouldn’t recline because the seat next to it was in the way. I wish the sales rep would have told me it wouldn’t work that way. So after the delivery guys left, my husband had to rearrange/reattach the seats himself. The other recliner we bought had a dent in the cushion and weird mark across the fabric when it was delivered, so I took a pic and sent it in to request a new one. A new one was delivered a week later, but they gave me another one that wasn’t even new because it didn’t have a tag on it like all the others did and has a bunch of thick wrinkles in the cushion. If I wanted to send back a defective piece, what makes you think I would want another used/defective piece?? Lastly, the sales rep in the store told us if we don’t use the warranty we purchased, we would get it back in a gift card after 5 years. She failed to mention it’s not a real gift card…You have to spend $999 again in order to use it! I will never do business with these people again because of their deceptive business practices and low quality products.

Great looking store with some really good deals on wonderful looking furniture. I came in for the first time today to do some window shopping and see if I would come back. Unfortunately I probably won’t since in the first ten seconds of walking into the store with my S/O, I was greeted by Issac very rudely. After I had uncomfortably past that interaction he proceeded to follow me around the store without assistance making it even more awkward. Unpleasant customer service interaction. Only thing saving my impression of this place is the merchandise. Would probably recommend some sort of training meeting on how to greet and interact with customers.
