Rose's Fine Food

About

Made-from-scratch food with quality local ingredients.

Description

Rose's Fine Food is all about food from scratch with the highest quality ingredients we can find. Because we believe that our team is one of our most important ingredients, we have opted to pay them a living wage instead of depending only on tips. This also creates equality between the front of the house and back of the house, making our team stronger and providing our guests with an all around better experience. While we do still accept tips if a guest feels moved to leave one, the tips are distributed equally throughout the staff. <3

In my sweet 23 years of eating treats and taking myself out on dates, Roses has always been my favorite shop. I should have reviewed years ago, but I’m doing it now as I say goodbye to a business I loved so dearly. Love ya’ll and hope there is more to come in the future.
Been back here at every time of renovation and it's always great. Great drink selection and wine bar. Fantastic lunch menu with Amazing sandwiches. Great baked goods. The new patio is rad. Prices are more then fair.
So glad I got the chance to try out this place before they closed. The space is adorable and charming. The French onion cheese sandwich was very good.
Great vibe. Great little menu. Perfect place for lunch, coffee or a glass of wine. Small table seating and bar area not ideal for large groups—more of an intimate/quaint setting. Driving by you would never expect this place to have such a cool interior. The staff is great too. Make a trip over, you’ll be glad you did. Looks like there is a nice outdoor seating area too…I’ll be swinging back by when the weather warms up! REVIEW UPDATE: Came back for lunch recently and was a little disappointed. The leafy green salad was literally just a bowl of greens. That is what the menu says, but seems silly to pay $6.50 for a bowl of lettuce. The egg & cheese sandwich was rather greasy. Mostly bread. They didn’t allow for any substitutions/changes. Would be nice if the sandwiches came with a side chips, or a side of something. A bit overpriced for what you actually get. I guess it’s more about the vibe which is great, than the actual menu. I like what they’re trying to do and I’m always happy to support a local business.
Will be sad to see it go, if you see this review and it's not the end of April and you're contemplating going, GO!!! Maybe I am just biased because I love their cakes so much, but Rose's has some of the best food around. Yes it may be a bit more than other places, but I think the quality is worth it. Not sure how many times I have been here over the years, but I stopped in today to cheer myself up. It was so busy it in there and truly so happy to see so much support! I grabbed a sourdough loaf, a raspberry rose pop tart, cake, and a french onion grilled cheese. Probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Even if you don't want warm food, stop by and grab a dessert, a loaf a bread or even a bottle of wine. Always warm welcoming folks too
I really enjoyed their food. I got the snack plate and split that with my fiancé. It was a beautiful day outside and their outdoor tables & umbrella were perfect! They also have lovely flowers.
Delicious scratch made breakfast. Came here looking for a packzi ... had read they had them but not on the day we were there. Settled on biscuits and eggs. Delicious. The biscuit was salted and fresh. Service was super friendly ! Off the beaten path but worth seeking out!
I've been a long time lover of Rose's Fine Foods. I've enjoyed the "Staff Favorite" breakfast bowl since I arrived in Detroit. Rose's is a staple of the Detroit Brunch circuit and I was very excited to see cocktails on the menu pre-pandemic. Over the past year, a lot of restaurants have been forced to make tough choices, but I don't think anyone has made a pivot quite as deftly as Rose's Fine Food and Wine. The move into bottles and smaller plate items is a great decision. You can tell there has been considerable thought put into all of the decisions made throughout the interior and exterior. While most of the interior seating has been removed, there are more overall options to eat and mingle with the expansion of the outdoor dining. Picnic tables, umbrellas and planter beds were added last year and I hear more is on the way. It's fun to see staff run between the kitchen and vegetable gardens as they prepare food. I'm excited to see what the summer weekend menu offerings are. The staff mentioned there may be a limited menu, so hopefully we see some old favorites. I look forward to keeping this spot in rotation as we all try to get back to "normal."
Breakfast, Lunch & homemade pastries! Fresh donuts! Cozy space! Perfectly cooked farm eggs. House made bread & jam! Lovely flowers! Outdoor eating in nice weather. I wish there was a Rose’s in my city. No visit to Detroit complete without a meal here.
Amazing quality diner near Belle Isle that serves great food on a consistent basis. It's got charm and friendly staff that complete the experience. Be prepared for a short wait if you're coming here on the weekends for brunch. The ethics of this place are great to, with a clear commitment that their staff is paid a living wage. In terms of accessibility, it would be great if they added handicap parking lines and somehow made their restroom more accessible.
