The Rosemont Public Safety Department serves the Village of Rosemont in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.
The Village of Rosemont has a distinct location, size, and composition located near O’Hare International Airport. As a result of this, a unique method for delivering police, fire, and emergency medical services was adopted back in 1975. The integration of these services has progressed into the public safety model utilized today.
By integrating all of these services into one organization and training our members to operate seamlessly within all of these disciplines we are able to provide an exceptionally safe environment for our residents and guests. The level of service our personnel provide to the community is incomparable. We are able to deliver such extraordinary service because of the dedication of our members and the interoperability of our methods.
The public safety delivery model we utilize necessitates that each sworn officer be fully trained and certified as a police officer, firefighter, and emergency medical technician. Our Public Safety Officers (PSOs) are assigned to Patrol or Fire Suppression.
In order for our PSOs assigned to patrol to respond to emergency medical service (EMS) calls requiring lifesaving measures, as well as fires, members carry specialized equipment in their squad car. PSOs assigned to Fire Suppression are furnished with police equipment and can respond to law enforcement incidents as needed.
In addition to delivering police and fire services, the Rosemont Public Safety Department supplies a multitude of other services provided by a dedicated and professional staff of sworn and civilian employees. Some of these additional services include 911 Communications, Fire & Crime Prevention, Crime Free Housing, and Records.
