Roughing It In Style

First of all, the selection and quality of the furnishings are out of this world. It's mostly rustic, reclaimed and Northwoods designs but some of it is elegant. We didn't expect to be so bowled over by the store, as our design ethic is rather traditional/transitional. We found a table and bench that we bought immediately, and have been lusting after some other pieces ever since. Talking with Bo and Mrs. Bo was enjoyable and even the delivery men were so careful and personable....this was a great experience from start to finish. Check it out and be surprised that there is something wonderful in Roughing It for every design aesthetic.

We frequent this store often on our way through the area. We have furnished our basement and our upstairs living room with RIIS furniture and couldn't be happier! It doesn't matter who you work with; Paula, Gina or Bo, they are all very pleasant and more than accommodating helping with finding fabric combinations and items that work in your space. Without a doubt, I would recommend them; not only because they are a pleasure to work with, but because they have quality items to choose from. LOVE Roughing It In Style!!

We first visited the Madison location about a year ago and I immediately said to my husband...."we should have come here first". We had just recently bought new furniture from another store. We were then very kindly greeted by Paula and could not have been more impressed with her. After spending about an hour or so in the store, we left feeling so sad about our "NEW" furniture. All we could think about were all the pieces that we wished we had purchased. We finally couldn't take it any more and sold all of "NEW" furniture and returned to "Roughing It". Again, we talked with Paula and she helped us out with fabric selection, furniture layout and a ton of cool accessories. She even came on the delivery and helped set up our dream home the way it should have been in the first place. Thank you to all. We could not be happier and will tell all of our friends about your awesome store.

We have purchased several pieces of furniture from Roughing it and have enjoyed the process each time. The owners and staff designer in Madison are very friendly. Most recently we had a custom kitchen island made with them, and it exceeded our expectations.

The rugs and furniture was breathtaking. The best I have seen for a long time. Customer service above average. I will buy a beautiful mirror soon. Thank you for sharing your artistic store.

I strongly recommend not using Roughing It In Style for any repairs, or furniture needs. They do not do quality repairs, and do not offer returns on poor quality work. The details if you care. I had a bolt shear off inside of the frame while taking the bed frame apart this past summer. So I called them, and they said they could fix it. They just drilled 8 new holes into the frame and charged me $50. I picked it up, and put it together at my house. While assembling, another bolt sheared off inside the frame its a tough wood, mahogany, and the bolts were too soft. So basically, I paid them $50 to do absolutely nothing, and they REFUSED to give me my money back.

We have been purchasing rustic furniture for our log home from Roughing It in Style, Madison for over 12 years. We live in Nebraska and there are no stores like it in our area. The furniture is very durable even with daily use. My husband & I recently moved to a larger home and we needed furniture for a living room, dining room and bedroom, as well as interior design help. Paula D'Amour not only helped us find the furniture that we needed, she went above and beyond in assisting us with fabric choices for the furniture, furniture layout, and paint color recommendations for our home. When it came time for delivery Bo Palenske and Paula D'Amour drove the delivery truck from Wisconsin to Nebraska! They set up all of our furniture and Bo even installed the Avante blinds we had ordered for our dining room. For furniture, design ideas, and customer service there is no better store than Roughing It in Style, Madison!

Visited with design plans in hand and two employees seemed more interested in their own conversation than customer service. Must have been the ‘self service’ day. Travelled an hr with high expectations. Will not revisit.
