Worth the trip, I don't care how many times you have to return to get tickets. It is worth it. I've been through a handful of caves and they have all impressed me but this blew the rest out of the water. Amazing formations, very well preserved and un touched by greed. Yes, there are some physical requirements, like any cave. You'll need to crouch for about a minute of traversing, and you'll ideally want to be a healthy weight or it will get tight. Prepare accordingly and don't get mad at the rangers, they are all amazing. As of 2023 tickets were cash only, $10 per adult and tours are ran at 10 am, noon, and 2pm. Tours will last 90 minutes on the dot.
We did a cave tour with Ranger Allison Smith. She was amazing. She was so knowledgeable about the cave, cave history, animal and plant life in the area. The cave was fantastic. We learned so much and had a great time. She was kind, patient, and engaging. I would highly recommend it to anyone!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Ranger Daniel did a great job helping us explore and learn about the cave. The kids and I loved every bit of the tour. Definitely worth the drive. Add this to your list of stops while in Eminence.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entry$6–10
The tour guide was great. The cave was beautiful and had an interesting history. Make sure to bring your own flashlight. This tour allowed it and I wish I would have known ahead of time. The flashlights they give you are not very bright.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minPrice for adult entry$11–15
Ranger Jessie Jessica was amazing!! Her knowledge and compassion regarding the preservation and history on the cavern was inspiring. She made the tour very enjoyable, and was a HUGE life saver to my little sister in her time of need haha I would recommend the tour to anyone in the area!
They only allow 15 people at a time with just 3 tours a day. Surely they have a way to order tickets online to reserve a spot for you and your family, right? Wrong. Oh yeah, they also only sell tickets 30 minutes before each tour. My family and I showed up multiple times, even before they began selling tickets to find out more than 15 people were waiting each time. Even if the government is too poor to have a basic web reservation feature, they could literally just have people reserve a spot via email and allow walk-ins if there is room. This technology is free and has been out for decades. Then again, it's the government running this...
One of the coolest caves in Missouri. There's so much stuff in this relatively small cave. A word of warning though: the entrance tunnel has a long stretch that you have to stoop pretty low to get through, but it's worth every penny.Price for adult entry$6–10
Don’t get your kids hopes up very high for exploring this cave. They told me that you cannot reserve a spot for the tour. That you have to be the first in line and only 30 minutes before. I showed up over an hour early for the noon tour and they told me it was already sold out. I didn’t see a line of people waiting but somehow they were capable of reserving a spot. So then I asked for a 2pm spot. They told me I had to show up 30 minutes before 2 to get a spot. They don’t have a functional system of taking your kids on a cave tour at round springs.
I read previous reviews regarding this cave’s closure. As of March 22, 2023 it’s still closed. There was a lot of trees down in the area as if their clearing out that entire section.
What a hidden treasure! Very little signage about this place on highways 60 and 19, but there should be!Visited onWeekendWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
