Rude Dog University

Have taken our dogs to Karen for around 20 years now, German Shepherds, Springer Spaniels, Labs, and always recommend her to others. Very happy with the help she's been to our family. Her dogs are happy and my dogs always benefit from the socialization in coming to class. She is a great balance between positive affirmation and dealing nicely yet effectively with problem dogs. Highly recommend!

I have had several dogs go through programming here. Karen is a wealth of knowledge and has helped us help our dogs be good citizens! Our most recent rescue who was a scared, frightened boy, has come out of his shell and is an absolute different dog! I am recommending Rude Dog U for ALL training!!

As first time dog owners, we really didn’t know what we were getting into when we got our Husky pup Gus. We knew to be consistent with commands but didn’t know all the details and the ‘how’ behind training. As a result, Gus started acting out at 3-4 mos old pulling, disobedience, food aggression, etc.. We were at a loss and didn’t know what to do because we the humans needed the most training. Gus did a 1 week board and train with Karen that included a 1 hour private session with me and it was an absolute game changer. We came back with a completely different dog in the best way - he is visibly calmer, happier, and his obedience is close to perfect! Karen’s style of training is no BS - but for dogs, that is how they THRIVE! Because of our great success with Karen, we returned for her to board our dog while we were on vacation and to continue her training program by getting Gus trained Off-Leash. Gus went from, what seemed to us, a wild, untrainable, and angry dog to a very calm, obedient, and happy boy! We could not be happier with Karen’s services and she will have us as clients for life.

While the training was mostly helpful, the way we were treated was very rude. Our puppy was very ambitious and excited, but my mom was not up for handling him as much after knee surgery and we were constantly glared at or made as a bad example because of that. Anywhere else can help you with training without this bad attitude.

Great hands on experience. Karen was amazing. She was very informative and has helped us alot. Are dog has improved alot. Would definitely come back when we get a new addition to the family. Would recommend to all my friends.

Karen was great! Always early and stayed late. She helped me whenever I asked. I missed 2 classes and it wasn't a problem. I came in early she taught me what I missed. Then I missed another one and she stayed late. she was very helpful.

This is a must for a new puppy owner. RDU sets boundaries and goals and gives tools necessary to be a responsible dog owner.

Karen was very informative on why my dog was misbehaving and what I needed to do and not do to get obedience. Highly recommend.

Encourage negative reinforcement. Told me I should squeeze my puppy's paw as hard as I could when he was learning in class and wouldn't settle down.
