I have been hearing good things about here for a while. However, my recent visit blew my expectations out of the park! The service was friendly and fun! Our server offered great suggestions and answered all of our questions. I ordered the steak fajitas and added shrimp. The food was well seasoned, steaming hot, and gave my taste buds the best dance party lol. I plan to come back soon to try the tacos. The other people I was with ordered them and they looked great!
Delicious food, good/quick service, and a nice atmosphere. Went on a Friday night, sat on patio, and we all enjoyed our meals. Tacos were all delicious, I had the buffalo chicken, ahi tuna, and Korean tacos. This is a hidden gem.Food: 5/5
Came here when they first opened and recently came back for tequila Thursdays when all of their tequilas are half price, even top shelf. Sat at the outside bar on the patio and enjoyed the ambiance. The service was great. The bartender never let our drinks get empty. Will def be back, can't beat the specials.Food: 5/5
The service was very straightforward our server seemed as if he didn’t want to be there and it definitely showed. Our server didn’t even place the hot plates on the table, he handed the plates to us and didn’t put them down on the table. I had the shrimp quesadillas and it was pretty tasty. Overall I didn’t like my experience here so I won’t be returning.
The fajitas were fantastic. Service was great. The atmosphere outside was great as well. A++ Would recommend.Food: 5/5
The carnitas tacos were not fresh. Maybe we went at a bad time but definitely the meat was terrible. We had the seared tuna appetizer. Which was ok but not visually appealing. The bulgogi tacos were above mediocre. My wife had the fish tacos and was also felt it was low effort but not terrible. Oh and I absolutely think there wasn't any alcohol in our margaritas. We sat outside on the patio and our server did a decent job. All in all the atmosphere and service was good. The food was mediocre at best.
Ruru’s is a great spot for lunch or dinner. The outdoor patio is usually packed during warm weather months and has an outside bar. The margaritas are always strong and well made. We’ve tried most items in the menu over the last 5-6 years and the stars are the tacos and burritos. For tacos, the seafood options like Shrimp, Grilled or Fried Mahi Mahi are consistent. For meat, the Carnitas is our top choice. Burrito options are unique and the Spicy “Death by Ruru” is loaded with carnitas and “Clarence Beeks” with grilled skirt steak. Service is good considering how busy it can be. There’s a parking lot behind that helps with the large weekend crowds.
Stopped in for lunch after a suggestion from a local business owner. Nice casual atmosphere. Wish we’d come in the evening to sit outside and enjoy the patio. The menu was extensive but not overwhelming. Our party of 3 all got tacos, and we shared chips and queso. The food was delicious! We especially loved Fay Guy in a Little Coat! Highly recommend for great tacos!
I'm afraid to say how good this place is because you might take my table! Love this food! Save me a spot please! Don't worry I'm not saying the wait is too long but Charlotte is hopping and this is a local gem! We don't always eat out but when we do we are eating here! Yum!Food: 5/5
Liked Ru Ru’s tacos and tequila in Charlotte North Carolina. They make a really great frozen margarita. We also had the trio of dips with chips and I had steak quesadilla and the chicken taco. Our server Madison was extremely attentive. I think the only negative was we were sitting outside in the corner and once our food came out, we were attacked by flies. Next time I’d probably sit inside or somewhere else. Will definitely go back.
