My husband David was in due to a broken hip and needed therapy. The physical therapist were great. Everyone at the facility did an excellent job: friendly, professional, and proficient! A very clean environment with wonderful meals. Wish I could remember all the names. Thank you all!
My granny was in Ruston Regional Specialty hospital after she fractured her hip. Her recovery was further complicated by her dementia. However, I have to say the care she received was outstanding. The nurses were very caring and took excellent care of her. The therapists had a lot of patience with her as well. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job keeping her room clean, especially since she knocked things over repeatedly due to her poor eyesight. Finally, the doctors kept us well informed during her stay. I can't thank the staff enough. Thank you for all that you do!
Very unprofessional asked me to leave bc I was concerned about the care the were giving a client. 2 days strait I came and client was soaking wet mind you he can’t really move due to surgery so we have to move him. I asked the nurse 3 times for someone to help me change him finally after 3 hours they came. Second night client was soaked again whole bed now from 8 Pm to 10pm he couldn’t have wet that much if you were checking him every 2 hours. Then asked me to leave the premises fine with me but make sure you take care of the client in my absence. Don’t get made bc I called you out on not doing your job. Client Care should be a main priority since they are how you get paid. If you can please avoid this facility.
The Administrator at this facility called my sister, and I was on the call as well. She is so unprofessional and I think she feels like she can talk to black people any kinda way, but she got a mouthful from me!!! She needs to get more training in proper phone etiquette, because people like her hide behind the phone and would be scared to speak aggressively in person. Coward so-called professional. They are so desperate to have good ratings that they have employees/family posting on here to get a higher rating.
Not happy with this hospital's care for its patients. Restricting visiting hours at hospitals doesn't keep COVID from spreading.  But it DOES hurt patients. I've been vaccinated and I fully support measures that protect nurses and doctors and patients.  I'm ok with the masks and temp checks . But visiting hours 2-5 pm are when most people have to work. That means I won't get to visit my mom all week . It means I can't ask her nurses questions about her care. It means I can't advocate for her. Patients, especially ones like her with lots of doctors and complex medical history,  need advocates. Medical mistakes are common, much more common than people realize, and having a family member advocating for their loved one can lower the chances of that happening. The inconsistent way this hospital implements policy is also maddening.  Sometimes they are very strict,  only letting one visitor per day, other times will let multiple people in. Just seems dependent on who is working that day. Edited to add: The actual nursing staff has been very kind and I'm very appreciative of them. I have issues with the head honchos making policies.
We are wholeheartedly grateful to Ruston Regional Specialty Hospital’s Administration and it’s Physical Therapy Department for the special attention and care to make sure that Mama Lyons was comfortable. Their professional yet personable service given to the family was clear and admirable. We were completely satisfied with their services. God Bless Each of You!
So, first of all, covid does not know what time it is. So, why limit visiting hours to when most people work? Secondly, if you do choose to limit visiting hours, make sure anyone that has the possibility of informing the public your visiting hours knows what the hours are. This goes for any rules as well, like the limit of 1 visitor per day. Called and asked about times and got 3 different answers: 2pm-5pm, 10am-6pm, and 5pm-7pm. Also never got told that there was a limit on visitors.
This facility has to have the most unprofessional Administrator I have been in contact with. She truly needs a class on proper etiquette. She spoke to me as if she’s uneducated and has a problem dealing with people of color. Please stay away from this place! She's a poor example of representation for this facility!
My 40 year old husband was at this facility for a month post Covid on the vent. We couldn’t have received better care. He was taken care of like family. They kept me updated and were always very receptive when I called or asked for information.
