"Sacajawea Historical State Park is a 267-acre day-use park at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers. The park is open 8 am to dusk 30 minutes after sunset from April 1 to October 31. On Oct. 16, 1805, the Lewis & Clark Expedition arrived at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers, the site of today's Sacajawea Historical State Park. Facilities include a boat launch, two docks on the Snake River, a kitchen shelter, picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, and a sand volleyball court. There are also swings and a swim beach. Central to the park is the Sacajawea Interpretive Center, open Wed-Sun 10 am-5 pm. The museum features interactive exhibits on the Corps of Discovery, Sacagawea and the Sahaptian-speaking tribes of the region."

The park is located at the confluence of the Columbia and Snake rivers. It is such lovely park with lots of picnic tables under large shady trees. It has a boat dock and paths with informative signs about the area and its history. An interpretive center is located in the middle of the park with displays about Lewis & Clark and the area's native peoples. There is no cost to visit the center. However, a 10-dollar fee or a 30-dollar annual Discovery Pass is required to visit the park.
Beautiful place but it opens April 1 but was still able to take short photo and we found Beautiful rock. JESUS is King of kings
Stop taking away our state funding for parks!! This could be a wonderful park. But this unfortunately is low on the list of state parks. So the grass gets cut but it has serious sprinkler problems and upkeep. The people who work there do the best they can with as little as they get.
A beautiful park on the Columbia river. The leaves on the trees were changing colors for fall, the beach was calm & nice and the sunset was wonderful.
Small Park, well taken care of, at the Confluence of the snake and Columbia Rivers. Plenty of parking. Nice walk around the perimeter. Interesting interpretive Center. Washrooms.
I took a walk in this little park while on a trip. It has plenty of picnic tables, parking and river side views. It was late August and the weather was very nice after a significant heat wave. Still the grass and trees appeared healthy in spite of that heat. Part of an area I walked was obviously used to set up a tepee, but it was not present when I visited. There are several places to dock along the shore which is great if you are on a small boat fishing on the Columbia River. Our tour group had a large bus which took us around the area. The map seems to to show modest road access to this park, but it looked pretty good to me. Great place for a picnic!
Went late in the day, so park was pretty empty which made it nice. Being a L&C buff, I am always on the trail of places they had actually been. Park is beautiful and the center was informative for those who don't know the story of The Corp of Discovery. A good introduction. One thing missing though; baby Jean Baptist, Sacajewea's son who also made this amazing journey, lead a full life and is buried in Jordan Valley, Oregon. His gave is marked.
It was just me and the geese at the park today. What an amazing view of the Snake and Columbia rivers confluence. Where they join makes one big lake. Is he awesome snake River merges into the Columbia river it creates a vast body of water. From here the Columbia continues west to the Pacific Ocean.
A very nice park along the Columbia River. There is a fee however it's well worth it. Paved roads, plenty of parking, and plenty of shade.
State park is good for summer months maybe. Free to come here and fun little parts of history. The museum is the cost part, the park is open year round and has horse shoe pits, picnick tables, docs $5 boat launch fee, volleyball pit not maintained during winter spring, and swings. Mule deer wondering through as well. Out on the edge of industrial central. Dog friendly, on a leash and just a note...not everyone picks up after their dog so be careful.
