The Historic Woodland Train Depot, built in 1911 by the Southern Pacific RR, is operated as a railroad museum by the Sacramento Valley Historical Railways.

Description

Sacramento Valley Historical Railways is a fellowship of volunteers who are dedicated to community service and education through the preservation and operation of historic railroad equipment and structures in the Sacramento Valley. Visit us from 8 am to 12 pm every Wednesday and the first Saturday of the month.

Reviews

Rented this darling venue again this year for our non-profit's BBQ.  Raylene and the other volunteers were a great help.  They had several tables that they let us use to improve the seating afforded by our rented tables and chairs.  Having the museum rooms, steam engine and train cars to explore really made it a special day for several railroad fans in our group.  It also gave the kids in attendance some priceless quality time learning first hand how their grandparents and great grandparents lived and traveled.  My family moved from the plains states to San Francisco shortly after the transcontinental railroad was completed.  Bringing everything they owned in trunks one of which I still have.  The two new bathrooms, recently built with help from Rotary clubs and other volunteers, are wonderful and fully ADA compliant.

It was such a wonderful experience to go here and see the different kinds of trains and the turntable.
