An older looking park with more than half appearing to be full timers and some looking really poorly cared for. Showers were fine, but locating spots a little difficult. Good size truck stop across the street for a few things you may need as well.Service: 3/5
Quiet area, friendly community. Between 5 and 15 minutes from just about anything you could want. Safety: Nice quiet place rarely any kind of problem in the area
I have no idea how this place is but they never called me back so I don't imagine it's good.Rooms: 3/5
Reasonably quiet, great access to highways, it's really easy to forget you're like 15 minutes from downtown St Louis . Noteworthy details: This is as the name and RV park not a hotel I'm not sure what Google has going on there and it's not giving me an option to inform them that it's not a hotel ‍
We needed a place to stay while traveling through St. Louis. We called ahead and they reserved our spot—very professional. When we arrived, Mike, the maintenance man was exceptional. He offered assistance and helped us park. It was shaded spot and worked well for us. The place was quiet and easily accessible. It is an older place but we were looking for a quiet place to stay, not a resort vacation, so it worked well for us. They also have showers, bathrooms and laundry facilities which we did not need. Nice people.
I'm giving it a 2 star because it was a halfway level parking spot, and we didn't get robbed. I felt like I was camping in a trailer park that was also the place where RVs went to die. So much garbage everywhere, the place was filled with people living full time out of 40 year old RVs, with junk cars parked all over the place and stray cats roaming the lot. Honestly not a place I'd go again. I've paid less for far more reasonable accomodations. The campground host was very responsive to texts. Don't let the name fool you, the only exotic animal spectacles you'll see are the stray cats being fed by the full time residents.
We were very disappointed with our stay at the Safari RV park. The park is advertised as a safari with pictures of tigers, giraffes, and other animals. The only animals on site were a number of stray cats. We had a hard time getting in touch with management to reserve a spot and then they were never on site at the RV park. The bathrooms were clean but the park itself was a mess. A number of year round residents had junk laying all over the place. The whole place smelled like a sewer. We would not recommend this park for anything other than a one night stay.
Stayed here for about a year. Lisa was always responsive and helpful. Neighbors all seemed like decent people, everyone minds their own business. It doesn't have the 'image' of other local parks charging more than double... but you have to expect that. Would definitely repeat if im in the area.
I spent four nights at this park and found it was a pleasant experience. It’s a small park 25 – 30 spaces but it had all the necessities. Full hookups at each site, water, sewer, 30 & 50 amp. There is a large shower house with laundry facilities and clean restrooms. The park has a security camera system and the local police drive through periodically just to check on things. I felt safe in this well maintained park and would stay here again. Great location also.
We stayed here as we were just passing through. Had been boondocking and really needed to clean our tanks for winterizing once we got home. There are many permanent residents there that have no care or concerns about the condition of their RV. The owner responds to any negative fb reviews to fix any situations. I was awakened at about 2:30 with conversation, these were male voices that went on for awhile. Maybe neighbors in the park, but since we were on a mission home, we needed sleep. He tries to keep it well cut, but little pieces of garbage blown about. Clean looking building for what I figured showers, we didn’t go in. Not worth the $40 except our tanks were cleaned and we had electricity for the night
