Worst car rental experience I've ever had; after an hour of waiting, I finally received the vehicle, but at the time of inspection, both I and the individual delivering the vehicle very nice gentleman noted a noise. At that time, I went to the lady at the front desk The manager to change the car and have one that was functioning properly which, in my opinion inspections of the car should be done before the car is given to the customer for safety reasons; ensuring that people live in a safe environment should be a company priority. The manager which was very impolite by the way gave me only one option which was the electric car which I had decline before. In that moment, she abruptly stated, "So you want to cancel your reservation?" The reason I'm leaving a negative review is because you should inspect your vehicles before renting them out to ensure the safety of the renters, and the manager should learn how to communicate with customers more effectively. This review serves as more than just a negative comment; it functions as a means of raising awareness for the company to protect its sales by ensuring that consumers are not provided with improperly functioning cars, preventing potential tragedies.
Do yourself a favor. Go to a different Rent-A-Car company. This Avis is the worst, specifically this location in Cutler Bay.
If I could give this place a zero rating, I would. This location will tell you they have cars until you physically get there. This is my fourth time going to them WITH a reservation and three times they didn't have any vehicles readily available. They would say, "The person hasn't turned in their vehicle and the airport is not going to bring any." They're basically telling you - "you're on your own". Not professional at all!!!! Go elsewhere - avoid this location at all costs!!!!!
This location deserves zero stars….. I had such a terrible and unprofessional encounter with this location supervisor Raul… During a reservation for a family trip for my daughters 1st Birthday to Orlando he didnt honor the price that was given to us by the Avis company and even after calling customer service and having them honor the price he declined it….. telling us that that he was not going to honor it and told us we needed to put $1,000.00 plus a deposit in order for him to give us the reservation that we had made months in advance…. I would NEVER recommend this location especially with RUDE RAUL as the “manager” / unprofessional/ unpleasant supervisor/ no customer service and the worse experience I have every had …. ! Hey by the way Raul we went to another rental company got our van for our family trip!!!! SO I WOULD LIKE TO POLITELY SAY TO RAUL YOU NEED TO LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT CAREER ONE THAT DOESNT INVOLVED CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We will no longer take our business to the Avis at 9828 SW 184st Cutler Bay
Do not rent from this AVIS, the cars are not serviced properly at all. I am now with the second vehicle they switched me into and now stranded with my plans on hold. I have to call roadside assistance, wait 2 hours and for the car to be towed and then pay for an Uber to another facility who can give me a rental. I may or may not be refunded. I CAUTION YOU , think twice about renting from Avis- these rentals are trash. Not to mention I’m convinced they give better operating vehicles to certain people. Every one else was able to drive half decent vehicles with no issue, I’m stuck in the parking lot just trying to get this raggedy one started.
When I rent a car in avis at cutler bay and the associate was very professional and customer service oriented . The service was incredibly fast and friendly . Today I'm returning the car and a different associate provided me a incredible bad service I asked him if someone can drive me home which is a couple miles away and said NO I'm the only one and he has another employee backyard cleaning cars. He do not even ask me my address and try to be empathy with the situation . unfortunately the sevice depend on what king of employee you found behind the counter. This is Avis /Budget in cutler Bay . 184 st close to franjo road.
Easy to reserve a car to pick up at that location. Courteous and professional staff. The car I rented was very clean and ready as I arrived. The prices are competitive and I was able to extend the rental period right from the app. Great positive experience.
Raul has excellent customer service skills and is always willing to help
Based on my experience I am very shocked that there could even be a negative review here for this particular location, especially with Nelly as the manager, because they are consistently professional, respectful, accommodating, and kind. You cannot enter their facility and NOT be greeted with a smile. At the check-out desk they go above and beyond to secure a vehicle that meets your liking which includes, driving to the airport to pick up a specific car if you don't like what is on their lot or rejecting cars that don't meet their personal standards. Nelly and her staff ensure that I NEVER leave their lot with a car I do not consider safe and clean. I will continue to frequent this location and continue to recommend this location to my friends, family, and anyone who is looking for a positive rental experience.
This Avis location demonstrated for us how a proper rental service is managed. I'm renting a car for a month, starting a new business in South Florida. I need to make a good impression. Our first Avis car was hastily delivered and was not well maintained. After several attempts to resolve this including notably bad transactions in Key Largo - don't go there, Raul and his shop corrected our issues perfectly. In my opinion, his service was the role model for how Avis should do it everywhere... 5 stars.
