Greedy Publix bought them out, in addition to the place that they already have across the street many people are very upset because Safeway had the best meat prices in town now they have to pay expensive prices for meat poultry a 3-pack chicken breast package cost $15 where you can go to places like Winn Dixie and get nine pieces for $7-$9 do you really want to pay 12 to $15 for three chicken breasts when you can get a full pack of 9 or 10 chicken breast for the price of have seven eight dollars? I miss Safeway!
Love the selections, fresh new look, I lived in CA where Safeway is found, so I am happy they are in town..
It was an Albertson's forever, I guess Safeway brought Albertson's. Very nice selection of meats, produce and grocery items. They also have a large wine section.
They have a great variety of items, including in the organic/natural section. The store is neat and clean and all of the employees are pleasant and professional. Recently they were out of my husband's favorite ice cream for a few weeks. The staff was very helpful and courteous as always. They checked the back and they also checked to make sure it had been ordered. The corporate office looked into it as well and now it is back in stock. I feel like they truly care about each and every customer.
I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this store! Their forgot can be a little overpriced however they also tend to carry some seasonal items at reasonable prices I don't see in other places. The meat is ALWAYS good and priced fairly. Package sizing can be small in some items but good four most.
I am sad to hear we'll be losing my favorite neighborhood store. The prices are great and the delivery service is the best hands down. In addition to having friendly staff and great hours, the store is always clean and well stocked with a huge selection of merchandise. Well now it looks like it's going to be more of the same, another Publix. Just what South Florida needs...NOT!
We were pleasantly surprised when we visited Safeway after they took over this from Albertsons. The redesigned store is clean, well staffed and rearranged with more choices and easy access. also checkouts are well staffed at all times and staff very courteous and helpful. We see much more cars in their parking lot than before so obviously more customers in the new Safeway.
Fantastic remodel of an old Albertsons. Incredibly convenient that it's open till 2 AM every night of the week. Great selection, solid produce department, good prices, always well-stocked. Minor complaint is that the organization of the store is a bit strange, particularly that dairy items aren't all in the same part of the store.
If you like produce, but you'd rather not overpay, then this is your store. Not only is it fresh and relatively inexpensive, it is attractively displayed as well. I also get a bit of a nostalgic charge coming here as I have lived in other places where Safeway was THE store to shop at. I like the feeling I get when I walk through the front door...
Wish we would have discovered this sooner! Great prices, cheapest grocery store we found compared to Publix Trader Joe's Wholefoods and Fresh Market. Clean, friendly staff, great produce selection, a natural foods aisle or 2...everything you need! Oh and the Starbucks location inside doesn't hurt either.
