I had a great stay at the Saginaw Campground! It was nice having full hook-ups for my camper. I felt it was a super convenient location for my stay in Duluth. It was easy to drive back down to Jay Cooke State Park and easy access to everything up in the mall area. Despite what it might seem, it only took me maybe 25-30min to get down to London Road and proceed up the north shore for all my North Shore adventures. I also appreciated the nice bathroom/shower building. I would definitely recommend and stay again!!
Don’t miss judge the 4 stars. Until you read the whole post. It’s my personal opinion. This campground doesn’t have much to offer but that being said if it’s a way point, work, a sleeping spot for day excursions 5 stars. Traffic noise is an issue but honestly anyone who travels a LOT. There is way worse. Staff for what little there is like previous posts can’t get much friendlier. Campsites are clean pretty well maintained. And besides the traffic it is a quiet park. With respectful host and seasonal campers. All around are nice people.
Overall not bad if constant highway and train noise doesnt bother you. Owners are super friendly. The only complaint I have is them shutting off the water without notice. I understand not wanting the pipes to freeze, but it takes 0 effort to notify the people still staying here that it's being shut off. Otherwise I'd give 5 stars
Hot showers. Clean bathrooms. Good price. Nice guy. Check availability online but reserve in person for no booking fee. For tent camping, choose Tent Site #4. 2-star setting loud trains, kinda busy road but I give it 4-stars based on what is important to me showers, bathrooms, price & decency.
One of our favorite places to camp when we go up to hike the north shore. There is lots of privacy, they are really laid back with dogs, and you can buy wood right from the campground. The bathrooms are also so clean and water is nice and warm in the showers.
Friendly staff members and spacious campsites. BE AWARE that this campground is right next to a train track. Not a problem if you can tune out the sounds though. Bathrooms are clean with minor decorations. Legit.
Highly recommend this campground! Spacious camp sites, SUPER friendly host brought firewood straight to our campsite, they have a laundry room as well that I heard was spacious and nice- but did not use it personally as I only stayed overnight, VERY nice bathrooms with cute decor and GREAT showers, only 15-20 minutes from Duluth and everyone staying was very kept to themselves and quiet! DO BEWARE- there is a train that will go by once in a while and can be quite loud at night, but if you’re not bothered by that- there’s no issue! Also, from personal experience- Tent Campsite #6 seemed to have concrete underground- making it impossible to fully stake our tent into the ground, but we managed to secure our tent in another way! Will DEFINITELY be staying again!
Great campground. Full RV hookup. Clean bathrooms/shower. Gentleman met us at our site and brought us some wood. Circle drive lit at night. Thanks!
This was a nice stay near Duluth! Good price and nice owner. We had a great pull through spot, perfect for our 33 ft 5th wheel. The owner lives on site and was nice enough to provide me with quarters for use of their laundry room. It is right next to a pretty busy train track but that didn’t bother us at all. Easy access from the highway too!
This place is not ideal for tent camping— seems like a great place for an RV, less so for tents. It’s quite loud, in between a highway and train track, and the camp sites are on the periphery of the RV spots so you feel a bit hemmed in. You’re also not able to let dogs off leash because it’s so close to a highway. That being said, if you just need a place for a night it’s fine— it does have great, clean showers and bathrooms, which were most welcomed on a cross country road trip. But it was certainly not the most beautiful or relaxing. If you’re looking for a pretty spot try one of the state/local campgrounds nearby no showers, but no noise either!
