Outstanding experience. The lamb shawarma was delicious and you got plenty of food at a great price. The Turkish coffee was an enlightening experience and now I want to start drinking it every day. The traditional baklava was flaky and sweet. Our waitress, Kristina, was the real star of the show, though. She was busting her butt by herself at the front of the house getting a dinner rush served, and still managed to get everything out to patrons quickly. She even had some multilingual skills to accommodate the table near us.
Mediterranean cuisine is not really my thing. It uses a lot of cumin, which tastes like dirt to me. I don't use cumin making chili for that reason. The family wanted to go here while in Manitou to try something different. The staff was friendly and attentive, the hummus was fresh and delicious. I tried the combo kebabs, to a person with the right pallet in sure they were to notch. I prefer my steaks rare and to me the lamb and chicken were over cooked and to the point of drying out. I know from experience with Indian food that this is normal and how it is commonly served, so don't let me discourage those with the correct expectations. Presentation was great and my family enjoyed the experience, especially the break from Pizza and burgers on vacation.
Went here on a rainy Monday. Super friendly staff and very accommodating. They hustled to get tables in to accommodate guests that were outside when it started to rain. The food is delicious and the portions are large! Would highly recommend the veggie plate and the gyros. So the Sahara Gyro actually has multiple meats -beef, chicken and gyro meat! It is amazing! The fries were good but they were a little cold. Their baklava is to die for. Take your baklava and a coffee to go after you eat and stroll the town and enjoy the view of the river. As far as the ambience, it was nice. I love the lamps. I do wish they updated the decor a little bit. It’s a bit dated. And I also wish they had some really cool Middle Eastern music to go along with the food. But overall, loved it and we’ll be back!
This is our favorite place in Manitou! Everything is good. The hummus, falafel,dolmas, and kabobs are our go-to. The portions are very generous. They have a kids' menu, if your kids are picky eaters. Our kids would rather eat what we are having. You have to order the Sage Iced Tea...it is everything this visit we tried all 3 types of baklava and we couldn't pick a winner, they were all good. The service is always personable, and the food comes out quickly. If we lived in CO, we would be here every weekend
What an utterly spectacular place! This lamb gyro is by far the very BEST I have ever had. It is not greasy just simply mind-blowingly good! Oh and get the Turkish coffee too! It's a must!Food: 5/5
Very pricy. We split the kabab sampler between 3 people and didn't finish it because we didn't like it. The hummus had the feeling of being carbonated, I don't know what spice causes that. The kids chicken tenders and fries were the best I've ever had. Crispy and delicious!
Great little place right downtown. A nice change from all the burger joins up and down the street. Fantastic falafel, made fresh. Enjoyed sitting outside people watching and enjoying an authentic middle eastern meal.Food: 5/5
Wow. Amazing food! We had the vegetarian plate and a lamb gyro. And the baklava! So fresh and delicious. We have had a lot of Mediterranean food, and this was as good as any we have had! Vegetarian options: Always appreciate so many options!
We ordered approximately 15 types of starters and main courses from this restaurant. Unfortunately, the waiters were very rude and disrespectful, which dampened our experience. We were eating outside due to time constraints for the Pikes Peak train, but they asked us to leave without any reservation policy in place. Moreover, the food was just average and didn't meet our expectations, as we ended up wasting half of it. I would not recommend anyone to visit this place, as there are other beautiful restaurants nearby that might offer a better dining experience.
