Our nurse Kim and the student that was with her were absolutely wonderful, and so sweet. We went in for an induction and they made it as smooth and easy as giving birth could be. They really made the experience a positive one. Kim is an absolute angel and amazing nurse. Aleicia provided my after care and was also awesome. She made it as comfortable as possible getting me cleaned up and moving us to our overnight room. Our night nurses were just as amazing. Kate and Vitalia helped get our little one eating better and they were so quiet and respectful when coming in at night. The next day Bella and the other RN that was with her I’m sorry I can’t remember her name provided great care as well and were so sweet. The doctors, lactation specialist, and everyone else who came to check on us were all wonderful, respectful, and caring. Tom was the last to help us. He walked down with us and made sure our carseat was correct and gave us a ton of helpful information. Thank you all so much for helping us bring our little boy into this world! We are so grateful for you!
My wife & I had our first baby here. The staff was absolutely fantastic, I can’t express this enough. They were hard working and treated us with great respect. Our questions were always answered thoroughly and with care. The facility is very nice. The delivery rooms are spacious and recovery rooms were decent as well. I would recommend this hospital for anyone having a baby.
My wife gave birth to our first child at this location. The labor and delivery experience could not have been better. The facilities were comfortable and the nursing staff was absolutely fantastic, particularly Sammy and Michelle. During pre-labor, Sammy's personality was light, fun and contagious. During labor, Michelle made us feel certain that we were in the best of hands. She knew what to say and do in every situation, and seemed have the ability to read my wife's mind when things were getting difficult. The calming effect of her personality seems to fit the healer/nurse archetype perfectly — kind, caring, experienced, and wise. We never felt rushed at any time during the process. We are so thankful and will remember these two nurses for the rest of our lives. A message to the administrator of this center: give these two a raise! EDIT: On the post-natal side of things, our nurse Sierra was excellent. We also loved the lactation staff who provided us with great practical information. Thank you!
Worst first birthing experience of my life. Not my OB's fault. He deserves better. The hospital however is the worst. Especially their Nicu doctors. Some of the most incompetent insurance driving up individuals I've ever seen. This whole hospital disgusts me. I should've gone elsewhere to give birth.
My water broke a month early and I had a precipitous labor. My baby was born 5 hours later. Things were intense and FAST, and all the staff held it together and kept pace with a harried situation. My doctor arrived quickly, I was offered everything I could possibly want. Even when I was moaning like a wildebeest and having a hard time answering questions, everyone was efficient but patient and gentle. My nurse never left my side. The staff was calming and kind when I was starting to lose it. They maintained an atmosphere of confidence while keeping pace with a rapid delivery. The respiratory specialist arrived very quickly and was ready and waiting, which saved my premature baby's life as she couldn't keep her lungs inflated on her own. While it was an emergency birth, the staff never made me feel fearful, they were very upbeat and positive but never withheld the facts. I felt that all the staff cared about me and were invested in my family's experience. The after care was great as well, and my nurses were very kind and attentive, and bent over backwards to get me anything I needed immediately. I always felt my baby was getting the best care and their attitudes and conduct made me trust the decisions of the staff. She was whisked off to the Boise NICU, and they brought her in her incubator to my room so I could see her before they took her over. AND they had a camera on her 24/7 that I was able to watch on my cell phone so I could feel reassured and see my newborn baby girl.
Could not have asked for a better birthing experience. Dr. Pettit is a wonderful doctor and I had the 2 best nurses I could have asked for! Jade and Kendra made my long labor and at one point scary delivery amazing! Just a wonderful experience overall!
Was in for 3 days due to a an unplanned C-Section. The nursing staff was FANTASTIC. They were so supportive and kind. They answered all my questions and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and at ease with my newborn. At discharge, they didn't rush me, they encouraged me to take my time and went through all the paperwork at my pace. On my second night there I was exhausted and they offered to watch my newborn at the nurses station for a couple of hours so I could get some rest. Cannot say enough good about them. Will be going back for every pregnancy.
My wife labored and delivered at Birkeland last month. It was her second birth, but as our first child was delivered at home, this was our first hospital birth experience. We will be back! The nurses and other staff were INCREDIBLY helpful and caring. They communicated well, anticipated our needs, and made the entire experience something that we will positively remember. St. Alphonsus is bringing hospitality to the hospital industry--we are truly thankful!
I've delivered both my babies here one vaginally and one via C-section, and one of my babies had a brief stay here when they had RSV as an infant, and I have to say that this place is absolutely phenomenal! The staff are all kind, skilled, and welcoming, and the accommodations are homey. I would definitely come here again to deliver!
Kind and professional staff, with great facility. Couldn't have asked for better for our third child.
